Chapter 68
Chapter 68
Ye Fengyun smiled and asked, “Wife, does it taste good?”
Tang Shihan set down her sparkling clean bowl and pretended to judge coldly, “It’s just average, I suppose.”
“Being contrary isn’t the mark of a good child.”
Ye Fengyun chuckled, pushing the millet porridge toward Tang Shihan. “Drink this, it’s good for your stomach. You need proper nutrition so our little baby can grow strong and healthy.”
“Alright, alright, I get it. You’re so annoying,” Tang Shihan replied, though her words belied the sweetness blossoming in her heart.
If only this guy were a little better looking.
After breakfast, Tang Shihan glanced at the time, hurriedly stood up, and headed downstairs. Ye Fengyun followed, and as fate would have it, they bumped into Lin Qinghuan, who had driven over to pick him up.
Who knows if Lin Qinghuan had planned it this way—arriving neither early nor late, but just at this very moment.
“Ye Fengyun, get in.” Lin Qinghuan stepped out of the car, one hand in her pocket, the other thumb pointing toward the flashy Mercedes.
Today, Lin Qinghuan cut a striking figure: brown Martin boots, black Balenciaga stockings paired with denim shorts, a white low-cut top, a light blue denim jacket, and sunglasses perched on her nose, exuding a rebellious aura.
Tang Shihan frowned, her intuition as a woman whispering that Lin Qinghuan’s relationship with Ye Fengyun was anything but ordinary.
“Who are you?” Tang Shihan asked.
Lin Qinghuan pushed up her sunglasses and gave Tang Shihan an appraising look—her face was attractive, her figure well-proportioned, but she dressed too formally to stir a man’s senses.
Lin Qinghuan quickly formed her impression, then smiled and replied, “Hello, I’m Lin Qinghuan.”
Lin Qinghuan? Someone from the Lin family?
Tang Shihan frowned. The Lin family dealt in entertainment, dining, and tourism, while her own Tang family ran a media company; the two families had little business together. How had Ye Fengyun gotten involved with her?
Adding to her suspicions was how late Ye Fengyun had been coming home recently.
“I’m Tang Shihan,” she responded politely.
Lin Qinghuan nodded. “I know. His fiancée, right?”
“Yes. And you are?”
“I’m his friend, here to take him somewhere.”
“Where to?” Tang Shihan couldn’t help but press.
Ye Fengyun hurriedly covered Lin Qinghuan’s mouth, smiling at Tang Shihan. “It’s nothing, really. Sweetheart, you’d better get to work or you’ll be late.”
Tang Shihan frowned, an uneasy feeling suddenly rising within her, as if someone might steal away the thing most precious to her.
She took a few extra glances at the pair before getting into her car and driving off.
Once Tang Shihan was out of sight, Ye Fengyun finally let go of Lin Qinghuan.
Lin Qinghuan pushed him away, cheeks flushed, straightening her appearance as she snapped, “What was that for?”
“Nothing. Let’s go.”
Ye Fengyun slid into the passenger seat.
He couldn’t let Tang Shihan know he was going to the auction for Love in the Clouds; he still planned to surprise her.
Lin Qinghuan started the car, and soon they arrived at the auction venue.
It was the annual Yunchuan City Auction, grand in scale, with all the prominent families in attendance.
At the entrance, Ye Fengyun spotted many familiar faces: Xu Meijiao from the Xu family, Lin Ye from the Lin family, Tang Yilin from the Tang family, and Yun Mengxi from the Yun family.
It had to be said, Yun Mengxi’s legs were as exceptional as ever—the title of Yunchuan City’s Goddess of Beautiful Legs was well deserved. She even had a sky-high insurance policy for her famous legs.
