Chapter 26
Chapter 26
After the banquet ended, Ye Fengyun and Tang Shihan left the hotel together.
Just then, Xu Meijiao approached and handed over her business card.
“Mr. Ye, thank you for saving my father earlier. Here’s my card,” Xu Meijiao said with a charming smile, her allure unmistakable.
Ye Fengyun took the card, but as their hands touched, he felt a sudden itch in his palm. Xu Meijiao had extended her index finger and gently traced it across his palm, her gaze lingering on him with a smile.
Ye Fengyun held the card between his fingers and gave it a slight wave. “Thank you.”
Xu Meijiao made a “call me” gesture, then turned and got into her car.
A woman’s intuition is always keen. As soon as Xu Meijiao walked away, Tang Shihan’s expression became somewhat unnatural.
“Wife, are you jealous?” Ye Fengyun teased.
“You’re ridiculous,” she retorted, giving him a glare. She turned to leave, but as she took her first step, she suddenly felt lightheaded. She staggered a few steps, her vision dimmed, and the world spun around her as she fainted.
Fortunately, Ye Fengyun reacted swiftly and caught her in his arms.
Just then, a blue Porsche Cayenne stopped in front of Ye Fengyun.
The car door opened, and a pair of long, snow-white legs emerged, sculpted and exquisite like a work of art. Those legs were simply perfect, pleasing to the eye.
“Mr. Ye, do you need any help?” The speaker was none other than the long-legged goddess, Yun Mengxi, heiress of the Yun family.
Earlier at the banquet, Yun Mengxi hadn’t thought much of Ye Fengyun, but after witnessing Long San’s respectful attitude toward him, she immediately changed her opinion. Businesspeople value profit above all; whether they liked someone was irrelevant—what mattered was benefit. Thus, Yun Mengxi’s attitude toward Ye Fengyun shifted so quickly.
Ye Fengyun, anxious, cradled Tang Shihan and said to Yun Mengxi, “I need you to clear the way for us.”
“Miss Tang fainted? Quickly, get in the car,” she urged.
“The car is too slow,” Ye Fengyun replied.
“What?” Yun Mengxi hadn’t grasped what Ye Fengyun intended when, in a flash, he was gone.
Yun Mengxi was left stunned.
In less than a few minutes, Ye Fengyun arrived home with Tang Shihan in his arms.
Tang’s mother, Lin Yuzhen, saw her daughter unconscious and hurriedly dropped what she was doing to check on her.
“What happened? Shihan, what’s wrong?” Lin Yuzhen asked, her heart aching.
Ye Fengyun laid Tang Shihan flat on the sofa and took her pulse. After a moment, he breathed a sigh of relief and said to Lin Yuzhen, “It’s all right. Shihan is merely exhausted. It’s nothing serious. She’s naturally anemic, which is why she fainted.”
Lin Yuzhen’s worry didn’t abate. She sighed, “Shihan has been staying up late for work these days. That must be why she collapsed.”
At that moment, Tang Shihan slowly opened her eyes, still groggy.
Seeing her daughter awake, Lin Yuzhen finally felt at ease.
“Shihan, you silly girl, why don’t you take care of yourself? Your health comes first!” Lin Yuzhen admonished.
Tang Shihan’s face was pale, but she forced a smile. “I’m fine, Mom. My investment proposal was selected, and our Tang family finally has a connection with Longhai Group.”
