Chapter 50
Hearing Lin Lei’s words, Tang Yilin was momentarily stunned.
“You mean, you want to—”
Lin Lei gave a sinister smile and nodded. “Since she climbed the ranks by using her body, I’ll go find proof of it. Then, I’ll play the video on the big screen at their wedding. When that happens, hmph—”
Tang Yilin looked troubled. “Will it work? What if grandma finds out—”
“How could she possibly know who put the video up? Besides, if Tang Shihan is really innocent, there’s no way we could get dirt on her. Once she becomes an outcast, it won’t just be the Tang family—she won’t be able to stay anywhere in Yunchuan City. By then, getting that partnership will be a piece of cake.”
Lin Lei’s words were tempting to Tang Yilin.
“Are you sure about this?” she asked again.
Lin Lei sneered. “Don’t worry. This time, I’ll make sure everyone sees what kind of woman Tang Shihan really is.”
Tang Yilin nodded, a sly smile spreading across her face. “Now I’m actually looking forward to that wedding in seven days. Hahaha.”
The next day, Tang Shihan brought the contract to Longhai Group and completed the project handover.
Everything felt like a dream to her, so unreal.
She had clearly lost the opportunity, yet it had returned to her hands—it was almost unbelievable.
“But why?”
Tang Shihan still couldn’t understand why Longhai Group had suddenly changed their mind. No wonder Tang Yilin was so jealous.
“Could it be because of Ye Fengyun?”
She recalled the way Long San had treated Ye Fengyun, and a bold guess formed in her mind.
But she dismissed the thought right away.
“No, President Long was just being polite and respectful. If Ye Fengyun was truly so capable that President Long admired him, why would he settle for being a live-in son-in-law?”
Shaking her head, Tang Shihan pushed these unrealistic thoughts aside.
“Wait, Tang Shihan, why have you been thinking about that ugly guy so much lately? Could you actually like him?”
Her face flushed at the thought, and she quickly shook her head. “Stop it, Tang Shihan. Focus on your work. You have to prove yourself to the Tang family—not become a woman distracted by love.”
She composed herself and began reviewing her team’s projects.
As for Lin Lei and Tang Yilin, they had already started sending out invitations, preparing for the anniversary dinner in seven days. They invited most of the celebrities and influential figures in Yunchuan City, hoping to use the occasion to expand their network.
Of course, the city’s elite weren’t fools—they wouldn’t attend just for Lin Lei or Tang Yilin’s sake. The real reason they showed up was that Lin Lei was presenting himself under the banner of Longhai Group.
The public only knew Longhai Group was working with the Tang family; they didn’t know who was in charge. Lin Lei took advantage of this, using the company’s name to attract many influential guests.
As for Ye Fengyun, as agreed, he went to the Traditional Medicine Hall to see patients, while also preparing for the wedding in seven days.
On this particular day, however, a distinguished guest arrived at the clinic.
She was Lin Qinghuan, the eldest daughter of the Lin family—one of the four great families of Yunchuan City.
Ye Fengyun had met her once before at the investment banquet.
Lin Qinghuan’s arrival instantly energized the entire room. Every male patient was utterly smitten, unable to take their eyes off her.
Her figure was strikingly fit, clearly the result of regular exercise. Her legs were not the slender, stick-like kind, but full and powerful, exuding a healthy strength.
