Chapter 49
Chapter 49
Long San looked at her with a cold expression and said, “If you want to change it, just change it. Is there a problem?”
“No, no problem,” Tang Yilin replied, her confidence faltering under his imposing presence, not daring to press further. Yet his ambiguous answer only made her more certain of her suspicion.
Tang Shihan must have slept with Long San!
At that moment, Tang Shihan was still reeling from shock. It wasn’t until Ye Fengyun called her over that she snapped out of it.
“Wife, are you satisfied with the contract? If not, we’ll have him revise it until you are,” Ye Fengyun said indifferently, as if it were a trivial matter.
It was just a contract—a simple thing to fix.
Tang Shihan shot him a glare, quietly scolding him for speaking so rudely in front of Mr. Long.
But Ye Fengyun shrugged it off. “What’s the big deal? Long San, if I ask you to change it, will you?”
Long San bowed his head respectfully. “Of course.”
Tang Shihan stared in disbelief.
Who exactly was Ye Fengyun? Why was even Long San so deferential toward him?
“Ms. Tang Shihan, is there any issue left with the contract?” Long San asked politely.
“No, no more,” Tang Shihan replied hurriedly, signing her name.
Long San nodded, smiling. “Then I won’t disturb you further. Ms. Tang Shihan, please rest early. Tomorrow, I’ll come personally to escort you.”
With that, Long San took his leave.
The Tang family exchanged bewildered glances.
“Well then, if there’s nothing else, you should all head back. My wife needs her rest—she has a big project to handle tomorrow,” Ye Fengyun said, ushering them out of the house.
Tang Shihan wanted to stop him, but Ye Fengyun had already shut the door with lightning speed.
“Why are you so rude?” she scolded, though the joy on her face was impossible to hide.
Ye Fengyun merely spread his hands. “It’s late and they’re still hanging around someone else’s house. That’s what’s rude.”
“Alright, enough. Stop being cheeky. You—go to your room and get some sleep,” Tang Shihan ordered, hands on her hips with a hint of pride.
Ye Fengyun teased, “And just what authority are you using to order me around?”
Tang Shihan blushed, snapping, “As if I care what you do. Sleep or don’t, it’s up to you.”
She stomped back to her room, but her mood had clearly lifted.
Clutching the contract to her chest, Tang Shihan could barely contain her excitement.
“It’s like a dream. The contract is actually back in my hands,” she murmured, rolling back and forth on the bed with glee. Then, a trace of confusion crossed her face. “But just who is Ye Fengyun? Why is even Mr. Long so respectful to him?”
Her curiosity about Ye Fengyun only grew.
What she didn’t realize was that when a woman becomes curious about a man, it’s often the beginning of her downfall.
On the way home, the more Tang Yilin thought about it, the angrier she became, wishing she could take out her frustration on Lin Lei.
“I can’t stand it! That damned Tang Shihan is just a tramp!” Tang Yilin stomped her foot furiously. “She even scheduled her wedding for exactly seven days from now, the same day as our anniversary. She’s obviously trying to spite me!”
At that moment, Lin Lei’s eyes glinted with malice. With a sly smile, he said, “Yilin, what do you think would happen if everything Tang Shihan has done got exposed at her wedding? Wouldn’t that be quite a spectacle?”
