Chapter 35

Li Hu was furious. He threw off his jacket. “I’ll beat you to death, you scoundrel!”

“All members, listen up! If Boss Li wants war, then let us fight!” Yun Tonghai burst into loud laughter.

Li Hu’s reaction was exactly what he wanted.

It was either you die, or I die!

“Fight! Fight! Fight!”

“Till death with no regrets!”

The Hongyun Gang’s morale soared, while the Black Tiger Gang was being pushed back step by step.

At this critical moment, a figure darted across the battlefield with incredible speed. In the blink of an eye, Scar—who had been falling—vanished into thin air.

Ma Hongzhen was still waiting to hear the crisp sound of Scar’s spine snapping, followed by the wailing lament of agony. That heart-wrenching roar was, to him, a beautiful and moving melody.

Yet, the expected scream never came. Even Scar, who should have crashed to the ground, had disappeared.

Why?

Suddenly, Ma Hongzhen sensed a gust of wind flash before him. Before he could see who it was, a sharp “crack” echoed, and a burning pain exploded across his cheek.

Both gangs, poised for battle, paused in shock. All eyes turned in astonishment to the clear five-fingered print on Ma Hongzhen’s face, and to the man standing not far away, holding Scar with one hand.

“Aaah—”

Ye Fengyun stood there, holding Scar in his left hand, while his right hand casually cleaned his ear, his demeanor utterly relaxed.

“Boss Li, you started without waiting for me. That’s a bit unfair, isn’t it?”

Ye Fengyun tossed Scar aside, sending him sprawling face-first into the dirt.

But face-first in the dirt was far better than a broken spine. Though Scar harbored resentment toward Ye Fengyun, he still had to mutter a reluctant “thank you.”

Yun Tonghai’s brow furrowed. Just from that brief encounter, he sensed Ye Fengyun was no ordinary man.

“Who are you?” Yun Tonghai narrowed his eyes. “This is a battle between the Hongyun Gang and the Black Tiger Gang. If you get involved, you’ll suffer consequences you can’t afford. Get lost!”

Ye Fengyun regarded Yun Tonghai with interest. Faced with his threat, Ye Fengyun didn’t argue. Instead, he replied offhandedly,

“Sissy.”

The whole place went silent.

Not only were the members of the Hongyun Gang dumbfounded—even the entire Black Tiger Gang was stunned.

Was Ye Fengyun too bold for his own good? Did he not know that Yun Tonghai despised being called a sissy more than anything?

Sure enough, Yun Tonghai’s expression grew terrifyingly dark. Previously, he had only intended to wipe out the Black Tiger Gang. Now, his gaze looked as if he wanted to tear Ye Fengyun to pieces.

Tonight’s battle might be lost, but Ye Fengyun had to die a miserable death!

“You’re courting death!”

Yun Tonghai clenched his fists and strode forward.

“Boss, there’s no need for you to dirty your hands. Let me take care of him!” Ma Hongzhen stepped up, grinding his teeth. “He still owes me a slap!”

Yun Tonghai snorted and ordered, “Beat him within an inch of his life!”

“Yes, sir!”

Ma Hongzhen eagerly approached, cracking his knuckles.

“First round, Ma Lao-san wins,” Elder Yun announced. “Second round, Black Tiger Gang’s Ye Fengyun, will the Hongyun Gang still send Ma Lao-san?”

Ma Hongzhen flexed his fists confidently. “Against these small fries, I can take on ten at once!”

Ye Fengyun waved lazily. “I advise you to send someone else, or go rest a bit before coming back. Otherwise, people will say I bullied you.”

Ma Hongzhen sneered. “I advise you to go fetch a gun. Otherwise, people might blame me for beating you to death.”

Ye Fengyun laughed. “A gun can’t shoot faster than me.”

“Can’t kill you faster than I can!”

No sooner had he finished speaking than Ma Hongzhen vanished like a ghost, reappearing instantly before Ye Fengyun, his fist crashing straight toward Ye Fengyun’s chest.

He had put all his strength into this punch. If it landed, it would surely cause internal injuries—at best, damaging organs; at worst, causing cardiac arrest and instant death!
