Chapter 118: Exterminating the Iga Clan
Jiro Aso looked at his granddaughter with a stern expression once more, confirming, "You have told me everything that happened today, correct? Are you certain there are no omissions?"
"Yes, Grandfather. I told you everything that occurred this afternoon. I have hidden nothing!" Haruko Aso replied, reaffirming her statement.
"Very well, then it is settled. By the way, do not leave the house for the next few days. It is very chaotic outside right now!" After receiving a definitive answer, Jiro Aso emphasized his point to his granddaughter again. He feared that the inexplicable relationship between her and Lin Feng might implicate her or the Aso family. After all, the top brass of Japan were currently seeking to cause trouble for Lin Feng, and the Iga clan was doing the same. Getting involved with Lin Feng at such a time was not a wise choice.
At that moment, Lin Feng was still fast asleep in his hotel. He was unaware that the Iga clan had already reported the matter to the Japanese authorities. His whereabouts were known to the Japanese government, and a large contingent of soldiers was already rushing toward his hotel to arrest him.
Soon, a swarm of armed soldiers flooded the hotel, causing chaos among the other guests. Most of those staying there were not exactly law-abiding citizens, and they assumed the military had come to arrest them.
However, once they saw the soldiers passing by without taking any action against them, the guests breathed a sigh of relief. They were, however, consumed by curiosity: just what kind of powerful figure could have committed such a crime that the military, rather than the police, had been dispatched to apprehend them?
Before long, the Japanese Self-Defense Force reached the floor where Lin Feng was staying. The sound of clamorous footsteps jolted him awake. Although he had been sleeping soundly, his internal energy cultivation method was always active, monitoring his surroundings for any signs of danger.
Lin Feng leaped out of bed and quickly dressed. Unsure of the cause of the commotion outside, he pushed open his door and stepped into the hallway to investigate, coming face-to-face with the approaching Self-Defense Force unit.
The soldiers had been shown photographs of Lin Feng before departure. Seeing their target—a man rumored to be extremely dangerous—standing right before them, they immediately tightened their grip on their automatic rifles, aimed them at Lin Feng, and surrounded him.
Lin Feng saw he was surrounded, yet he felt no concern. He surmised that the presence of these Japanese soldiers had everything to do with the Iga clan. Sure enough, the highest-ranking officer among them stepped forward and said in stiff Chinese, "You are under arrest for suspected murder in Japan. Surrender immediately and put your hands up!"
Lin Feng had no intention of submitting, especially since he did not consider this small force a threat. However, he did not want to escalate the situation unnecessarily. Since the Iga clan remained relentless, he decided he would continue to lock horns with them; after all, every debt has a debtor.
The soldier who had spoken, seeing that Lin Feng was neither reacting nor raising his hands—though he was not resisting—attempted to step closer to handcuff him. The other soldiers watched Lin Feng intently, their fingers tightened on their weapons, ready to fire at the slightest movement.
Lin Feng noticed the soldier approaching and understood his intent. When the man was just a few paces away, Lin Feng offered a faint smile. Before the soldier could react, Lin Feng’s figure vanished from the circle of troops, leaving them behind with expressions of bewildered shock, as if they had seen a ghost.
After the ordeal, it was nearly 11:00 PM. The dark, windy night was the perfect time for killing. Originally, after dealing with Tengxiang Iga, Lin Feng had not intended to target the Iga clan further. But since they would not let him live in peace, he decided he would not let them fare any better.
Familiar with the route, Lin Feng arrived at the Iga estate once more. However, the perimeter was now guarded by layers of troops. It seemed the Iga clan had anticipated that Lin Feng might return for revenge and had requested military protection, though whether these soldiers could truly protect them was another matter.
A company of the Self-Defense Force was certainly sufficient for standard security, but unfortunately for them, they were dealing with an expert like Lin Feng, who possessed internal power. The sentries and checkpoints they had set up failed to detect or hinder him, and he slipped into the estate with ease. His goal was to find the head of the Iga clan, but he did not know who it was or where they lived. He was forced to wander like a headless fly, hoping for luck similar to his encounter with Tengxiang Iga.
As if the heavens had heard his prayers, as he searched, he stumbled upon a familiar face—or more accurately, an old acquaintance with whom he had previously had a conflict.
Tengfei Iga was in a foul mood. Not only had his grandfather, the clan head, lectured him, but he had also been grounded, forbidden from seeing his drinking buddies because of the "special circumstances" that required all direct descendants to remain within the estate. Bored in his room, he had wandered into the corridor to clear his head, never expecting to run into the one person he hoped never to see again in his life.
"You... how are you in our home? I..." Looking at Lin Feng standing before him, Tengfei thought it was an illusion. After rubbing his eyes several times to confirm, he stammered in incoherent terror.
"Haha, what a coincidence! To think a pillow would appear just as I was getting drowsy. You’ve come at just the right time—take me to your clan head," Lin Feng said, laughing as he stepped forward and grabbed Tengfei’s arm. He held less resentment toward Tengfei than he did toward Tengxiang, so he did not intend to harm him.
"Ouch, it hurts, it hurts! Let go, let go immediately! I’ll take you, I’ll take you right now!" With his arm in a painful grip, the pampered young heir, incapable of enduring even a hint of pain, immediately agreed to Lin Feng’s demand.
Seeing that Tengfei had complied, Lin Feng let go and signaled for him to lead the way. He followed closely behind, unafraid of any tricks; he had plenty of ways to deal with a spoiled young master like him.
Lin Feng followed silently as they wound through the estate for quite some time before Tengfei stopped in front of a room where the lights were still on. He gestured with his eyes, indicating that this was the room of the Iga clan head.
"Go in. Or do you need me to teach you how?" Lin Feng ignored him, ordering Tengfei to enter now that they had reached their destination.
"Uh, Young Master Lin, can... can you go in yourself? I... I dare not enter!" Tengfei held a lofty position within the clan. If it were discovered that he had brought Lin Feng inside, he would never be able to survive in the Iga household again; he would certainly be struck from the list of direct heirs and relegated to the life of a commoner forever.
"Stop with the nonsense, push the door open!" Seeing Tengfei’s lack of cooperation, Lin Feng grabbed his arm again and threatened him.
Unable to bear the pain, and caught between his high-and-mighty grandfather and the demonic Lin Feng, Tengfei finally surrendered and pushed the door open.
Tengchun Iga was inside, deep in thought. He had already visited the Emperor earlier that day to report the situation, and the state had dispatched troops to arrest Lin Feng. He was wondering how things were progressing.
As he pondered, the sound of the door opening interrupted his thoughts. He looked toward the entrance with a dark expression, wanting to see who was bold enough to open his door without reporting, showing him such utter disrespect.
When the door swung open, Tengfei walked in. Seeing the grandson he so disliked, Tengchun was about to scold him when he noticed someone following behind—someone he never expected to see.
"Nani? You... how are you here!" Tengchun stood up in shock, staring at Lin Feng.
He realized the situation in an instant, glared at Tengfei with a dark, grinding expression, and hissed, "Very good, you have done very well indeed!"
Tengfei wore a tearful expression, wanting to explain but not knowing where to start. He stood to the side, feeling completely out of place.
"Head of the Iga clan, may I ask if the military searching for me outside has anything to do with your family?" Lin Feng ignored their internal family drama and stated the purpose of his visit directly.
"Hmph, what if it was me? You slaughtered my clan’s mercenary organization and killed a direct descendant of the Iga family; we are mortal enemies!" Tengchun, a formidable leader in his own right, remained calm despite knowing Lin Feng’s extraordinary martial prowess. He glared at Lin Feng with malice.
Lin Feng burst into loud laughter, as if mocking Tengchun’s words.
"Hmph! What—what are you laughing at?" Provoked by the laughter, Tengchun shouted in a fit of rage.
"I am laughing at how shameless your Iga clan is! The conflict was sparked by you from the very beginning. When the first attempt to coerce me into a partnership failed, you threatened my company. When the second attempt failed, you targeted my fiancée. You act as if the magistrates are allowed to burn down houses, but the common people are not even allowed to light a lamp!" Lin Feng mocked.
Tengchun was dizzy with rage. A man as arrogant as he would never admit his family was in the wrong. He became somewhat unhinged, slamming the table and shouting, "Baka! You are not worthy of a company like Future Tech; only the Iga clan of Japan is worthy of owning it!"
Lin Feng continued to look at the shameless man with a sneer. After a long silence, he said coldly, "Are you declaring war on me?" With that, he unleashed his full killing intent, crushing it down upon Tengchun.
