Chapter 106: Preparing to Storm the Island Nation
Inside the Lin family’s grand hall, everyone, including Elder Lin, was stunned. Upon hearing what Elder Xie had to say, they all exclaimed in disbelief, "How is that possible!"
Elder Xie looked at Elder Lin, whose jaw hung agape, clearly still struggling to process the news. Elder Xie nodded at him again, confirming that the report was indeed authentic.
"Oh no, what are we going to do?" Liu Runli, who had been listening from the side, paced the hall in a state of agitation.
Lin Chuanzhi was also losing his composure. He had no idea what to do, nor did he have the authority to make such decisions. His only recourse was to look to Elder Lin and Elder Xie, hoping the two elders could find a solution.
Xia Ruoxi was perhaps the calmest person in the room. Although she had heard the entire sequence of events, her six months of experience as a CEO allowed her to maintain her composure.
"We should inform Lin Feng. I believe he will have a way to resolve this!" Xia Ruoxi suddenly spoke up to the anxious crowd. She knew Lin Feng’s character; if he learned that she had been attacked, he would never sit idly by—he would surely lose control. Xia Ruoxi did not want to drag Lin Feng into this, fearing for his safety, but given the gravity of the situation, she felt she had no other choice.
"Huh? Lin Feng? Ruoxi, why mention him? What could he possibly do?" Liu Runli, still pacing, asked with a puzzled expression.
Liu Runli might not have understood why Xia Ruoxi mentioned him, but those of the elders' stature immediately grasped the implication.
"Yes, find that boy Lin Feng. With his individual combat capabilities, there isn't a place on this earth he cannot reach!" Elder Xie muttered to himself. Seemingly having found a lifeline, he excitedly ran over to Elder Lin, gripped his shoulders tightly, and shouted, "Yes, find Lin Feng! Where is he? Get him back here immediately!"
Elder Lin understood the minister’s current state of mind. After all, his grandson was the leader of the strike team, now lost in Japan with his fate unknown. Despite the painful grip, Elder Lin did not change his expression. He nodded calmly to reassure Elder Xie, which finally allowed the elder to relax his hold.
Once Elder Xie stepped back, Elder Lin felt a stinging pain in his shoulders, but he remained silent. He simply picked up his phone from the table and called Lin Feng, telling him to return to the Lin residence immediately for an urgent matter.
Being summoned home by the elder yet again left Lin Feng speechless. Sitting in the car, he didn't want to speak, and even Lin Yu looked strained; why were there so many things to discuss over the past two days? If Lin Feng had known the truth, his expression would certainly not have been so indifferent.
The car soon pulled into the Lin family courtyard. After getting out, Lin Feng and Lin Yu walked into the main hall together, only to find Elder Xie sitting in the center, watching them with a strange expression.
"Grandfather, why the rush to have us back?" Lin Yu asked, unable to contain himself.
Elder Lin ignored Lin Yu and fixed his gaze on Lin Feng. The others in the room followed suit, all eyes turning to Lin Feng.
"Uh, what is going on? Do I have flowers growing on my face?" Lin Feng asked, touching his face as he looked at them.
"When Ruoxi went out today, she was attacked by the Iga clan. Fortunately, they didn't succeed, and she is unharmed!" Elder Lin said, suppressing his fury as he briefed Lin Feng on the day's events.
No sooner had the words left Elder Lin’s mouth than Lin Feng, who had been at the entrance, appeared before Xia Ruoxi as if he had teleported. He grabbed her hands, scanned her body anxiously, and asked, "Ruoxi, are you alright?"
"I'm fine. See? I'm perfectly fine," Xia Ruoxi said, trying to comfort him as she saw his worried expression.
After confirming several times that she was unharmed, Lin Feng turned to Elder Lin with a cold face. "Elder, who did you say attacked her?" His focus had been entirely on Xia Ruoxi, so he hadn't caught the name.
"The Iga clan!" Elder Lin repeated. Seeing the cold look in Lin Feng's eyes, he knew the boy was enraged—though the elder’s own anger had yet to subside.
"The Iga clan... very well," Lin Feng ground out, every word dripping with a fury that reached the heavens.
With that, he stood up, radiating a murderous aura, and turned to leave, intending to hunt down the Iga clan members at the location of their previous appointment.
"Come back. There is no need to go looking for them. The Iga clan members secretly returned to Japan this afternoon. Going to the hotel now is pointless," Elder Lin said, seemingly anticipating Lin Feng's intent.
Lin Feng stopped in his tracks. He turned his head and stared at the elder with cold, calm eyes, waiting for him to continue.
"Lin Feng, what the old man says is true," Elder Xie interrupted, unable to hold back. "After I learned of this, I immediately dispatched the Falcon Strike Team to apprehend the Iga clan members in China. Unfortunately, by the time they reached the hotel, the birds had already flown. Later, reports surfaced that they had secretly returned to Japan. The Falcon team pursued them, but more than two hours ago, the entire team lost contact in Japan. Their status remains unknown!"
"Lin Feng, it's true. Everything Elder Xie said happened today," Elder Lin added, nodding in confirmation.
Lin Feng remained silent for a long time. He sat back down beside Xia Ruoxi and looked at the lingering traces of fear and helplessness on her face. The more he looked, the angrier he became. If she hadn't been lucky enough to escape today, Lin Feng would have regretted it for the rest of his life. A killing intent began to emanate from him, growing until it became overwhelming. The temperature in the room plummeted, causing everyone in the hall to shiver. The two elders, both veterans of war, felt it most acutely; they looked at each other in horror, having never encountered such terrifying killing intent from any man before.
Lin Feng sat motionless. Suddenly, as if he had reached a decision, the killing intent vanished in an instant. If the two elders hadn't felt it so viscerally moments ago, they would have thought it was a dream.
"Zhao Ze, how are the hundred members currently training in Zhanhai City doing?" Lin Feng asked, silently dialing his phone.
Zhao Ze was puzzled by the call, as Lin Feng had just left him earlier that day. However, unaware of what had happened, he replied promptly.
"They are making great progress. With that boy Sun Long tormenting them every day, it would be hard not to improve!" Zhao Ze laughed.
"Good. Have them infiltrate Japan in batches starting now. Wait for my orders. They must all arrive in Japan by tomorrow morning. I am going to give them a taste of real combat. Tell them the mission is dangerous—there is a high probability that many won't return—and ask if they are still willing. Those who aren't can stay behind. Also, you come with me to Japan. Have Sun Long move to the Yanjing branch of the Longteng Gang to take command. I believe his presence will be enough to deter other gangs in Yanjing," Lin Feng commanded sternly, ignoring Zhao Ze’s cheerfulness.
"What? Young Master Lin, what happened?" Sensing the gravity in Lin Feng's tone, Zhao Ze’s smile vanished, and he asked anxiously.
Lin Feng, lacking the time or inclination to explain, simply ordered, "We meet at the Yanjing airport at 5:00 PM. I will explain in detail then. Just follow my instructions!"
Zhao Ze sensed the suppressed rage in Lin Feng’s voice. Clearly, someone from Japan had provoked the Young Master, or he wouldn't be calling for so many experts. His blood began to boil. As a born warrior, he was not satisfied with a peaceful urban life; he craved blood and battle. Instead of fear, he felt an irrepressible excitement. "Don't worry, Young Master Lin, I will handle it!" he replied loudly, hanging up the phone before Lin Feng could say another word, eager to get to work.
Once the call ended, the people in the Lin hall finally relaxed their breathing. They had been so tense, holding their breath and covering their mouths, fearing that even a sound might interrupt Lin Feng's train of thought.
"Lin Feng, are you sure you want to do this? It will be very dangerous," Elder Lin stood up, looking at Lin Feng with a grave expression.
