Chapter 107: Arrival at the Island Nation Airport
In the Lin family's main hall, the old master stood still, gazing at Lin Feng. Only now did he realize that Lin Feng had not reined in his murderous intent; rather, all his fury had been transmuted into action.
"Don't worry, I'm fine! Once I finish handling this, I'll return immediately," Lin Feng said calmly, looking from the old master to his parents.
"Lin Feng, I know I can't stop you, but you must be careful, do you hear me? I will be waiting for your return, and I will be safe here in Beijing." Xia Ruoxi embraced him from behind, speaking with tender concern. She did not want to be a burden; she didn't want him distracted by worries for her safety while he dealt with the Iga clan in Japan.
Lin Feng remained silent, savoring this moment of warmth. Slowly, he reached back to gently hold the arms she had wrapped around him, a gesture that spoke volumes of his current state of mind.
"Lin Feng, rest assured. I guarantee the safety of your parents and Xia Ruoxi here in the country. During your absence, they will remain unharmed. If they lose even a single hair, you can come settle the score with me when you return!" After Lin Feng had finished his arrangements, Elder Xie finally spoke.
Hearing the guarantee, Lin Feng did not offer polite platitudes. Instead, he turned and gave Elder Xie a firm nod, acknowledging the favor and the promise of protection.
Elder Xie, however, had his own private motives. Seeing that Lin Feng understood his intent, he added urgently, "Lin Feng, there is one more thing I wish to entrust to you. My grandson, a member of the third generation, was the team leader for the Falcon Commando's mission. He and his unit have lost contact in Japan. I hope that once you are there, you can help me find them and bring them back when you return—whether they are alive or dead."
Lin Feng understood that this situation had indeed been triggered by his own affairs. The disappearance of the Falcon Commando was, in every sense, linked to him, so he readily agreed.
Seeing Lin Feng nod, Elder Xie smiled in gratitude—perhaps a sign of approval, perhaps of appreciation. While Lin Feng could be lazy or cunning in trivial matters, Elder Xie believed that when it came to major issues, Lin Feng would keep his word. He did not know much about the young man, yet he trusted him—perhaps out of instinct, or perhaps because he knew Lin Feng was a formidable expert.
Once the matter was settled, Elder Xie left the hall. Lin Feng’s actions had provided him with a new perspective on how to arrange the next steps. In a quiet corner of the Lin estate, he began making calls to the Falcon Commando headquarters to issue orders and retrieve the dossiers of the operatives already in Japan, determined to get them to Lin Feng before he departed.
Ignoring the gaze of those in the hall, Lin Feng and Xia Ruoxi shared a long, quiet moment of intimacy. Sensing time slipping away, Lin Feng finally pulled away from her. He gently lifted her chin and kissed her forehead—a parting kiss. He stood up, adjusted his slightly disheveled clothing, and without needing to pack any luggage, nodded to the others in the room and signaled Lin Yu to drive him to the airport.
Lin Feng and Lin Yu left the Lin estate once more. This time, however, the trip was not for leisure; it was a journey for slaughter, fraught with peril. The other family members stood, watching his retreating figure, praying for his safe return.
Just as they reached the entrance of the estate, they encountered a hurried Elder Xie. "Lin Feng, this envelope contains the files of the seven operatives who went to Japan earlier. These are classified state secrets. You must destroy them after you have read them!" Elder Xie said solemnly, holding out a folder marked 'Top Secret.'
Lin Feng understood the gravity of the situation. He accepted the folder with both hands, gave a silent nod of acknowledgment, and then strode firmly toward the car with Lin Yu.
Elder Xie watched him go and suddenly snapped into a deep military salute—a gesture of blessing from one soldier to another. Lin Feng, walking ahead, seemed to sense the salute; he paused for a fleeting second before continuing on his way with unwavering resolve.
Once in the car, they sped toward the airport. During the ride, Lin Yu felt the heavy atmosphere; Lin Feng sat with his eyes closed, centering his spirit, so Lin Yu dared not disturb him.
Soon, they arrived at Beijing Airport. Lin Feng did not speak; he simply opened the door and stepped out. As he moved to close it, Lin Yu could no longer contain himself. "Lin Feng, be careful! I'll be here to pick you up when you return."
"En," Lin Feng replied softly. He was not one for grand displays of emotion, but the single syllable acknowledged the care behind the words. He shut the door firmly and walked resolutely into the terminal.
From the car window, Lin Yu watched his retreating figure. At that moment, he felt as if he were watching a god of death, his edge fully unsheathed. Only when Lin Feng vanished into the crowd did Lin Yu start the car and drive away.
Inside the terminal, Lin Feng quickly located Zhao Ze, who had already arrived and secured tickets for the next flight to Japan.
After meeting up and receiving his ticket, the airport broadcast announced the start of boarding. As they walked toward the gate, Lin Feng explained the purpose of the trip. By the time they reached the checkpoint, Zhao Ze understood the full scope of the mission, including the matter of the Falcon Commando.
"Don't worry, Young Master Lin. I and the other members of the Longteng Gang will not let you down!" Zhao Ze vowed as they reached the gate.
Lin Feng did not show his confidence, but he gave a calm nod. Once aboard, they found their seats. The flight would take four hours, and not knowing what awaited them in Japan, Lin Feng instructed Zhao Ze to close his eyes and conserve his strength.
The four-hour journey passed quickly. As the plane touched down, both men opened their eyes simultaneously. The sharp light in their gazes revealed that they were at their peak state.
Without luggage, they followed the other passengers into the arrival hall. Once they cleared customs, they ducked into a restroom to disguise themselves. Lin Feng knew the Iga clan’s influence in Japan was vast and that mercenaries were everywhere. To remain undetected and act with freedom, they had to alter their appearances.
Fortunately, both were practitioners of internal arts, which included a miraculous technique for disguise. They could use their internal energy to temporarily reshape their muscles and facial structures—a method far more realistic than any cosmetic surgery.
When they emerged from the restroom, they looked at each other and found themselves completely unrecognizable. If not for the sound of their voices, they would have been strangers.
"This is incredible. The technique was mentioned in our manual, but this is my first time practicing it. It truly is an essential skill for those in the world of martial arts!" Zhao Ze said, still stunned. As a former special forces soldier, he had used disguises before, but they were nothing compared to this.
"Enough, don't be surprised. You'll get used to it. I believe that even if we appear in Japan like this, they won't recognize us," Lin Feng said.
Zhao Ze nodded. "It's more than that. Even those closest to us wouldn't know who we are. We've changed our bone structure, height, and facial features. We are entirely different people. Even the world's most advanced technology couldn't link us to our former selves."
"Exactly. That is the advantage of using internal energy for disguise. Let's go. We need to find a place to stay in the city, scout for information, and meet our people tomorrow to begin the operation," Lin Feng said.
"Understood. I've been to Japan a few times on missions. If you aren't familiar with the area, I will lead the way," Zhao Ze offered.
Lin Feng, having never been abroad, readily agreed. Zhao Ze led him out of the airport, hailed a taxi, and spoke to the driver in Japanese. The driver nodded, and the car vanished into the vast sea of traffic, carrying the two men toward their mission of retribution.
