Witnessing the moment when Crow dropped to his knees, the entire bar fell into a deathly silence; one could hear a pin drop.

All the underlings stood in stunned disbelief.

What was wrong with the boss?

Was his rheumatism acting up again?

Beside them, Lin Ming’s eyes froze in astonishment at the sight. His voice quivered as he asked, “Fan… Brother Fan, what’s… what’s going on with him?”

Su Yifan smiled faintly without answering.

At that moment, Crow slammed his forehead to the ground twice in quick succession and said, “I’m sorry, Young Master Su. I… I didn’t realize it was you gracing us with your presence!”

He turned to his men and shouted, “What the hell are you standing there for? Kneel for Young Master Su, now!”

Hearing this, the underlings exchanged bewildered glances.

The next instant—

Thud! Thud! Thud!

Every single member of the Hongxing Gang dropped to their knees.

Seeing this, Lin Ming couldn’t help but look at his good brother Su Yifan, asking excitedly, “Brother Fan, haven’t you only just come back for two days?”

“Yes,” Su Yifan nodded.

“Then… why are they all so scared of you?” Lin Ming pressed on.

“You’ll have to ask them that,” Su Yifan replied with a smile.

Taking the hint, Lin Ming turned to Crow. “What on earth is happening here?”

Crow didn’t dare hide anything, fear etched across his face. “Young Master Su wiped out both the Green Gang and the Wang family in the past two days. Just the day before yesterday, at the Liu family’s banquet, he took out the heads and heirs of the Liu, Zhang, and Lin families—all second-rate clans.”

He swallowed hard before continuing, “And just last night, Young Master Su stormed the Southeast King’s Mansion alone. Even the Southeast King… was killed by him.”

As Crow recounted these events, Lin Ming’s expression shifted from shock to greater shock, each revelation more unbelievable than the last.

He hadn’t known about the Green Gang and Wang family incidents because he’d been at Heaven on Earth that day.

But he did know about the Liu family banquet. The day before, his father had called, inviting him to attend Old Master Liu’s birthday banquet; he’d declined out of disinterest.

Never would he have imagined his good brother killed so many people there. If he had known, he’d have gone too.

But most shocking of all was the Southeast King.

That was the Southeast King! The unrivaled ruler of the entire Southeast, commander of a hundred thousand Black Armored Troops, a man of unfathomable power!

Yet even the Southeast King had been killed by his friend Su Yifan—this was sheer fantasy.

Could all this truly have been done by Brother Fan?

“Brother Fan, be honest with me—have you been cultivating immortality behind my back these past five years?” Lin Ming stared intently at Su Yifan.

Five years—could anyone become this formidable without some supernatural cultivation?

“Stop spouting nonsense,” Su Yifan retorted, curling his lip.

Now was not the time to panic; if anyone saw through him, it would be troublesome.

Lin Ming wanted to press further, but Su Yifan waved him off and turned to Crow. “Enough. Time to deal with you all.”

Crow responded hastily, “Young Master Su, please don’t kill me—I was wrong!”

“And what exactly was your mistake?” Su Yifan asked.

“I… I…” Crow stammered, at a loss for words.

Indeed, what had he done wrong?

“Can’t say?” Su Yifan’s voice rang out again.

Crow paled in terror and hurriedly said, “I was wrong in every possible way! Please, Young Master Su, spare me. The entire Hongxing Gang and I will follow you unconditionally!”

“Follow me unconditionally?”

“Yes, yes! As long as you don’t look down on us, we’ll do whatever you say. If you tell us to go east, we won’t dare go west.”

“But I don’t take in useless trash,” Su Yifan said, preparing to rid the world of these scoundrels.

Just then, Lin Ming suddenly stepped forward and pleaded, “Brother Fan, all they did was extort some protection money. That’s not a capital offense—let them go, please?”

Though he found their actions despicable, killing them seemed excessive. If they could truly change, perhaps they deserved a second chance.

Su Yifan’s tone turned cold. “If I don’t kill them, won’t they just keep harming others?”

His good brother was too naïve. These people were incorrigible; let them go now, and in a few days, they’d be up to their old tricks.

Seeing Su Yifan unmoved, Lin Ming quickly said, “How about this: since you think they’re useless, let them follow me.”

“Follow you?”

“Yes. With me watching over them, I’m sure they won’t do any more evil.”

Lin Ming’s face was earnest.

Su Yifan considered this and nodded. He glanced at the kneeling Crow. “Will they listen to you?”

Crow wasn’t stupid—he immediately understood Su Yifan was giving them a chance.

He answered at once, “Young Master Su, we’re willing! From now on, Young Master Lin is our boss; we’ll obey his every command.”

“We’ll do whatever Young Master Lin says!” echoed the kneeling underlings.

This was their only chance at survival—they had to seize it.

Seeing they weren’t entirely hopeless, Su Yifan nodded. “Fine. But if any of you dares to commit another atrocity, I won’t show mercy next time.”

“Yes, yes, Young Master Su, you can rest assured. From now on, we’ll follow Young Master Lin’s orders and never do those things again.” Crow finally breathed a secret sigh of relief.

Damn! If he’d hesitated a moment longer, his head would’ve been rolling by now.

With the matter resolved, Su Yifan and Lin Ming left Delight Bar.

After Su Yifan and Lin Ming had left, one underling quietly asked, “Boss, do we really have to listen to them?”

Smack!

Before he could finish, Crow backhanded him across the face.

“If you want to die, don’t drag me down with you!”

He took a deep breath and continued, “Think about it—Young Master Su killed the Southeast King. If we follow him, who in Cloud City would dare cross us in the future?”

Hearing this, the underlings suddenly understood and gave him a thumbs-up.

“Boss, you’re incredible!”

“You always see the bigger picture. With this, even the top families will have to treat our Hongxing Gang with respect.”

“Thank goodness we have you, Boss, or we’d have missed such a golden opportunity.”

Noticing they were still calling him boss, Crow snapped, “Shut up! Don’t call me boss anymore. From now on, Young Master Lin is our boss.”

“What about Young Master Su?” one of them asked.

“Young Master Su?” Crow stroked his chin, then grinned. “He’s our light—he gives us hope and a future.”

After leaving Delight Bar, Su Yifan brought Lin Ming to a secluded place.

“Brother Fan, why did you bring me here?” Lin Ming asked.

Su Yifan smiled slightly and produced a small jade bottle. “Here, this is for you.”

“What is it?”

“It’s a Body Tempering Pill. It can greatly strengthen your physique. From today on, you must train daily. Otherwise, how will you keep those people in check?” Su Yifan said calmly.

“Body Tempering Pill?” Lin Ming didn’t even hear the rest; all his attention was on those three words.

Body Tempering Pill?

Why did that name sound so familiar?

He quickly searched his memory.

The next second, he suddenly recalled seeing Body Tempering Pills in those fantasy and urban cultivation novels.

Shocked, he exclaimed, “Brother Fan, and you still say you’re not cultivating immortality? Now you’re even handing out mystical pills!”

Thump!

Su Yifan reached out and knocked him on the head. “Nonsense. It’s just an ordinary pill.”

“And stop reading those trashy novels. They’ve completely brainwashed you.”
