Chapter 21: Now That I Remembered, You All Can Die
Page 1/3
The next day, at six in the evening.
Liu Yan sent an address.
Upon seeing the message, Su Yifan left his home.
Half an hour later, he arrived at the Longteng Grand Hotel.
This was the largest hotel in Yun City, and tonight it was the venue for the birthday banquet of the Liu family patriarch.
Just as he reached the hotel entrance, Su Yifan spotted a graceful figure standing outside—it was none other than Liu Yan.
Noticing Su Yifan’s arrival, Liu Yan immediately walked over to greet him. “I’m really sorry. I was too busy today and didn’t have time to pick you up.”
Su Yifan shook his head. “It’s fine. When does the banquet begin?”
Liu Yan glanced at her wristwatch upon hearing his question. “Half an hour left. Most people are already here, so let’s head inside.”
“Alright.”
Su Yifan agreed, and together they entered the hotel.
No sooner had they stepped inside than Su Yifan noticed the lobby on the first floor was packed with people, all dressed in splendid attire—no doubt the elite of Yun City.
A quick glance showed that most of them were young.
Liu Yan explained, “Most people here are from the prominent families of Yun City. There’s no need to be nervous.”
Su Yifan almost laughed at that.
Was she serious?
He, nervous? If anyone should be nervous, it was these people.
Liu Yan had expected Su Yifan to feel out of place, but his composure far exceeded her expectations.
She could see not a trace of nervousness in his eyes, only a calm steadiness.
“Is this your first time attending such a banquet?” she asked, curious.
Su Yifan nodded. “Yes, why?”
It really was his first time.
But then, why did she feel something was off, though she couldn’t quite put her finger on what it was.
“Oh, it’s nothing,” Liu Yan quickly changed the subject, pointing toward the dessert area. “Since we have some time, let’s go over there and grab a bite.”
Su Yifan did not refuse, and together they walked toward the dessert area.
With their arrival, those nearby quickly took notice, and soon a chorus of whispers followed:
“Look, isn’t that Miss Liu? Who’s the man beside her?”
“No idea. He’s a new face. Maybe a friend of Miss Liu’s?”
...
In no time at all, many were whispering about Su Yifan and Liu Yan.
Many of the men, especially, felt a surge of jealousy.
Who was this man?
What right did he have to stand beside Miss Liu?
Even as members of Yun City’s elite families, they rarely had the chance to approach Liu Yan.
So who was this man, and where had he come from?
In less than a moment, Su Yifan had become public enemy number one among the young men present.
“Look at them,” Liu Yan whispered with a mischievous smile at Su Yifan’s ear. “They’d eat you alive if they could.”

“They’re just trash,” Su Yifan replied as he picked up a dessert and took a bite.
Liu Yan, taken aback by his bluntness, whispered a warning, “You should watch what you say. If they overhear you, they won’t let it go.”
“Am I wrong? Aren’t they just trash?” Su Yifan replied, looking at her with a boldness that stunned her.
He hadn’t kept his voice down.
Those nearby heard him clearly.
Liu Yan was startled—she herself, as the Liu family’s daughter, wouldn’t dare speak so brazenly. Yet Su Yifan did so without hesitation.
This guy! Even after her warning, he still had no intention of holding back!
Just as Liu Yan was about to urge him to keep a lower profile, several young men strode over.
“Who just called us trash? Step forward!” one of them demanded.
His name was Huang Hao, a scion of the Huang family of Yun City.
Liu Yan was about to explain when Su Yifan spoke first:
“I’m talking to you. Trash.”
Liu Yan was thunderstruck, her eyes wide in shock.
What was wrong with this man?
Did he have a death wish?
Huang Hao had assumed Su Yifan would deny it, but clearly he had underestimated him.
With a cold sneer, Huang Hao asked, “Do you even know who you’re talking to?”
Su Yifan replied with a question, “Are you Huang Hao?”
“Oh, so you do recognize me. In that case—” Huang Hao began, but Su Yifan cut him off:
“Do you know Wang Teng?”
Wang Teng?
Who was this guy? Why bring up Wang Teng all of a sudden?
Huang Hao pondered for a moment, then replied coolly, “Of course I do. What are you—”
But before he could finish, Su Yifan’s palm shot out.
In the blink of an eye, Huang Hao exploded into a mist of blood.
A deathly silence fell across the hall.
The next instant—
“Scream!”
“He—he killed someone!”
The sudden violence brought screams and panic as chaos swept through the first-floor lobby.

It took Liu Yan three full seconds to recover. She demanded, “Su Yifan, what are you doing?”
“Killing. Didn’t you see?” Su Yifan replied calmly.
At that moment, it was as if Liu Yan was seeing him for the first time.
She couldn’t understand what was happening.
Su Yifan was a martial artist! But why had he killed?
“You’ve brought disaster upon yourself, do you know that?” she said after a stunned pause.
Su Yifan said nothing, instead fixing his gaze on three men not far off.
They were Liu Cheng, Zhang Mo, and Lin Zicheng—companions of Huang Hao.
They had witnessed Huang Hao’s fate and wished to run, but found their legs would not move.
Sensing his eyes upon them, the three turned around slowly.
And the moment they saw that Su Yifan was indeed staring at them, a chilling premonition of death seized them.
Then Su Yifan spoke, his voice low and cold: “Have you three forgotten who I am?”
The three glanced at Su Yifan, exchanged nervous looks, but none could recall who he was.
“Can’t remember? Let me give you a hint: five years ago, you bullied a girl together. I am her brother,” Su Yifan reminded them.
Five years ago? A girl?
The three racked their brains, and suddenly their expressions changed. They began to scrutinize Su Yifan more closely.
The next instant—
“You—you’re… Su… Su Yifan?!” Liu Cheng stammered, pointing at him in terror.
The other two shrank back, eyes wide in disbelief.
How could this be?
Hadn’t he died long ago? How could he suddenly appear here?
“Su Yifan?” Liu Yan murmured, recalling the three men’s conversation. Suddenly, realization dawned.
“I remember now! You’re the missing son of the Su family from five years ago!” Liu Yan gasped, hand covering her mouth.
It was him.
It was actually him!
No wonder his name had felt so familiar when she first heard it.
He was one of the Su family!
Su Yifan paid her no heed. He looked coldly at the three men and said, “Now that you remember, you can die.”
