Chapter 91: Unconsciousness

Moon Fox cut straight to the point. “After Wu Chen captured you, what did he say to you? What did he do?”

A flash of fear crossed Chen Mo’s face. His expression turned complicated, and his body began to tremble faintly. “He... he... he used those black flame chains to bind me tightly, dragged me to a very cold mountain peak, and then... then...”

Moon Fox extended her pale hand and gently stroked the back of Chen Mo’s hand. “Don’t be afraid. It’s over now. Your instructor is here. No one can hurt you. Go on.”

“Yes!” Chen Mo continued to put on the look of someone frightened just by remembering it, and said tremblingly, “Wu Chen stepped on me and humiliated me with his words, saying I had no one to blame but myself for hurting Zhong Lin’er, that I would pay blood for blood!”

“I asked him whether he wasn’t afraid of punishment from the Shadow Legion!”

“Then he laughed madly and said that with the vastness of our country, and with his strength, joining any guild at all would let him live with complete freedom, a hundred times better than staying in that broken school; even if he didn’t join a guild, he could become an assassin devoted to dealing with the Shadow Legion, and sooner or later he would make the Shadow Legion fear him!!”

Moon Fox’s expression darkened with every word she heard. “I never would have thought that child Wu Chen was so twisted inside. There was no sign of it at all before. Fortunately, this competition forced his secrets out into the open. Otherwise, once Wu Chen’s wings were fully grown, the consequences would have been unimaginable!”

For some reason, watching Moon Fox’s angry, disappointed expression made Chen Mo uneasy. He was afraid that one day, if Moon Fox ever learned his secret, her expression would be no less furious, no less disappointed than it was now.

“And then?” Moon Fox adjusted her mood and went on asking.

“Then he insulted me as trash and showed me how terrifying his power was, unleashing all kinds of dreadful skills. I swear, I have never seen skills so frightening in my life. Instructor, if you ever meet him in the future, you must be careful!!”

Moon Fox nodded in sudden understanding. So that explained the obvious damage at the peak of Seven Stars Peak. It had all been caused by Wu Chen showing off his skills.

Moon Fox said gravely, “Rest assured. Our White Cloud and Yellow Dog are not famous for nothing. Especially the Heaven, Earth, Black, and Yellow factions of Yellow Dog—any one of them sent out would be enough to contend with Wu Chen!”

Naturally, there was some exaggeration in Moon Fox’s words. Yellow Dog truly was full of people with strange habits, bizarre appearances, and formidable strength, but to say that any random one of them could stand against Wu Chen was overstating it. At the very least, the Yellow faction of Yellow Dog would probably not be Wu Chen’s match; it would need someone from the Black faction, at least.

Chen Mo quietly took note of that. So Yellow Dog was divided into four factions: Heaven, Earth, Black, and Yellow. In the future, he would have to be careful whenever he met one of them.

Chen Mo continued, “Wu Chen originally wanted to torture me slowly to death, but then he heard the sound of a helicopter and said there was no time, that he wouldn’t play with me anymore. Then he stabbed me from behind. My body was bound by those evil flame chains and I couldn’t move at all. I only felt a chill run down my back, then my consciousness grew heavier and heavier, and after that I knew nothing.”

“Brother!!” After hearing Chen Mo’s account, Ning Xuan’s tears, which had just been held back, burst out again like a flood. “That damned Wu Chen, I’ll definitely catch him and kill him! How dare he bully my brother!!”

Moon Fox stood up and soothed her. “All right, I already know the general course of events. Wu Chen has probably already left Star City. I’ll notify the cities around Star City to be on guard against him. As for Wu Chen, the two of you siblings don’t need to worry about him for now. Chen Mo, how do you feel now? Are you able to undergo the evolution?”

Chen Mo sprang straight off the bed and launched into a rapid series of high-difficulty Jeet Kune Do moves, full of life and vigor. “Teacher! I feel even stronger now than I did before I was injured!”

Moon Fox nodded with relief. “That’s right. Do you know that you alone used ten bottles of gene-strengthening fluid? Even I, your instructor, only used two bottles in total! Because you were in a critically endangered state, your absorption capacity became especially powerful, and you absorbed all ten bottles completely. Not only can you gain ten more attribute points, but your entire bodily function and potential genes will be strengthened, perhaps even undergoing a qualitative transformation!!”

Perfect! That way, when Chen Mo’s grades improve by leaps and bounds in the future, he would have an excuse!!

“Thank you, Instructor! I, Chen Mo, swear that I will repay your kindness in the future!” If Chen Mo’s earlier words were half true and half false, then this sentence was absolutely one hundred percent sincere.

Beneath her mask, Moon Fox smiled with understanding, smiled with happiness. To have such an earnest, ambitious student who also remembered kindness and repaid it—how could she, as an instructor, not be happy, not be pleased?

But Moon Fox did not show it. Instead, she coughed twice. “What is there to repay? It’s only right that your instructor treats you well. Now then, go change into your new Class A uniform, and then come with me to the cafeteria!”

Though Chen Mo did not know why Moon Fox wanted him to go to the cafeteria, he did not question it.

In the changing room, after putting on the pink school uniform, Chen Mo’s face filled with black lines. Damn it! This, this was way too girlish! It was actually pink!!

There was no helping it. Since Class A equipment was pink, all of Class A wore pink uniforms in order to reinforce the students’ sense of rank.

Fortunately, the uniform had been carefully designed by a renowned national fashion designer—youthful and stylish, yet still retaining a certain masculine air.

For example, the crossed double-sword emblem on the chest and the small metal shield on the shoulders all highlighted how distinctive the uniform was. Only the pink color was somewhat less than ideal.

It was just clothing. Chen Mo did not care. He had worn patched-up clothes all over before and never felt ashamed.

However, when Chen Mo walked out of the changing room, Ning Xuan immediately exclaimed in an exaggerated tone, “Brother! You look so beautiful! Pink suits you so well!!”

“Little brat, keep your voice down! Careful or your brother will beat you!”

“Haha, Brother, you’re blushing! La la la, I’m so happy. Brother, how about... how about you try women’s clothing...”

“Get lost!!”

At that moment, Chen Mo finally truly felt embarrassed.

Following Moon Fox out of the school infirmary, he had originally thought that by nine o’clock at night, the school would be quiet. Yet the reality was the exact opposite.

Staring blankly at the several hundred faces around him, some unfamiliar and some vaguely familiar, Chen Mo was at a loss. What, what was going on? Why had he become so popular after just one sleep? Had they discovered his hidden charm?
