Chapter 118: S-Class Zombies
“Handsome! Handsome! Handsome! Captain, you’re too handsome! Oh no, you’re too beautiful!”
“No wonder you’re the top magician at Fudan Middle School—so powerful! No wonder the instructors say they can’t teach you anymore! Your magical skill even surpasses theirs!”
Sang Ru basked in her classmates’ praise, a bit shy as she said, “Haha, not really. Everyone’s great too. Without your help, there’s no way I could have unleashed this magic formation alone!”
The cooldown for the Water Wave Impact was 120 seconds. After waiting, Sang Ru controlled ten water elementals to launch another Water Wave Impact, knocking off 10,000 HP from the S-tier zombie!
The S-tier zombie still had 1.96 million HP left! That meant the water elementals had to attack 196 more times!
Unfortunately, Sang Ru’s own level was only mid-level Marquis, with just 5,000 mana. Each Water Wave Impact consumed 500 mana, so she could only perform it 10 times at most. Fortunately, she had previously completed a high-level dungeon and used her points to buy twenty small magic potions, each restoring 1,000 mana and lasting for some time.
Xiao Sanyue, captain of Kyoto No. 1 High School, felt a chill upon seeing Sang Ru’s immense magical power. Thankfully, they hadn’t rashly tried to seize the S-tier zombie. Facing such terrifying magic, Xiao Sanyue doubted even her entire team could withstand a single blow.
“Don’t rush. Let them keep hitting it,” Xiao Sanyue whispered.
A group of sly players hid in the bushes for another hour.
In that hour, Sang Ru’s ten water elementals struck twenty more times, dealing 200,000 damage. Combined with occasional skills from other magicians and archers, the S-tier zombie’s HP dropped to 1.7 million.
At this pace, it would take roughly six more hours to kill the S-tier zombie.
Chen Mo was dumbfounded. This S-tier zombie was terrifying. It was only because a bug had pushed the zombie outside the map, preventing it from attacking, that they stood a chance. If it had been inside the map, no small team—he even doubted a thousand players combined—could have defeated it.
How comfortable! He could lie on this grass for another five hours!
Slowly, Chen Mo edged to the left, where the map showed fewer red dots. When the zombie’s HP fell below 50%, that would be his moment to strike.
Another hour passed. The Fudan team chipped away another 250,000 HP, leaving the S-tier zombie with 1.45 million.
Sang Ru drained her last five small magic potions and worried, “I’m almost out of potions. Does anyone else have any?”
Only one magician reluctantly answered, “I… I have one.”
Sang Ru fretted, “That’s not nearly enough. Without potions, I’m afraid we can’t kill this S-tier zombie!”
Chen Mo cursed himself for not carrying any potions. He really wanted to toss some their way.
The sly players hiding in the bushes also wished they could throw out some potions, but doing so would reveal their position.
Rustle, rustle!
A loud scraping noise came from the bushes, clearly caused by someone moving too abruptly, brushing against the ground and grass.
The group’s faces darkened: Who’s that? Can you just lie still? Stop moving!
“Exactly! If we get discovered, we’re done for!”
Sure enough, the Fudan No. 1 team wasn’t foolish. Hearing the rustling, they immediately grew alert.
“Who’s there? Show yourself! I’ve spotted you!”
Chen Mo thought, This is over! The boss still has 1.45 million HP and we’ve been spotted? These idiots are hopeless!
“Haha! I’m coming out, I’m coming out! Don’t be so nervous!” A middle-aged man with slicked-back golden hair, holding a bright red comb, strode out, fluffing his golden locks.
The other players in the bushes wanted to leap out and execute this golden-haired troublemaker on the spot. What a nuisance!
The sly players exchanged a knowing glance, choosing not to attack each other and retreating quietly.
Two warriors from Fudan No. 1, swords drawn, cut wildly at the grass but found no one.
The sly players had already slipped away, five hundred meters from the boss.
Sang Ru ordered, “Kill him!”
The golden-haired man quickly said, “Hey, pretty girl, don’t regret killing me! I’m just a passerby who got curious watching you fight the boss. I heard you say you’re out of potions—I have plenty! Come on, kill me! Then let’s see how you fight the boss!”
Sang Ru eyed him warily. “You really have potions?”
Like magic, the man produced two large magic potions from his hands, each equivalent to ten small potions and capable of restoring 5,000 mana over five minutes.
Sang Ru’s eyes lit up. “Large magic potions! Those cost fifty thousand points each to exchange! You actually have two?”
The golden-haired man combed his flowing hair. “Two? You’re underestimating me. I have ten in total!”
“Ten?!” Sang Ru exclaimed. With those, she could kill the S-tier zombie before the dungeon ended.
She knew nothing came for free and remained cautious. “What do you want in return?”
“Your body!” The golden-haired man stuck out his tongue lewdly.
Sang Ru blushed. “You pervert! Get lost! I don’t want your potions!”
The man gleefully said, “Ah, that’s great! Keep calling me a pervert! I love it when people call me that!”
The rest of the Fudan No. 1 team couldn’t stand it any longer. “You dog, how dare you harass our captain? You’re asking for death!”
Five melee fighters—wielding swords, greatswords, and spears—attacked him simultaneously.
The golden-haired man moved with incredible agility, twisting and dodging their blows with ease, untouched by any strike.
He proudly boasted, “You ugly bunch think you can touch me, Nalan Xingde? Dream on!”
“Alright, stop fighting!” Sang Ru called her teammates back. “Nalan Xingde, so you are Nalan Xingde! Is your character ID really ‘Oil-Stained Crotch’?”
Nalan Xingde was thrilled. “Yes, yes! That’s me! Can’t believe a beauty like you knows my name—I’m so happy!”
Sang Ru sighed. “Lord Cang Gou, are all your White Cloud Cang Gou clan members this perverted?”
Nalan Xingde’s mood instantly soured. “Boring! So boring! How did you know I’m from Cang Gou?”
“My instructor is Zhou Qing. What do you think?”
Nalan Xingde wiped away his lecherous drool. “Aha, a student of Zhou Qing! Haha, haha, it was all a misunderstanding—just testing you all! Now, to the point: I do have ten large magic potions. Since you’re my master Zhou Qing’s student, I won’t take advantage. Just let me join your team. I haven’t gotten first kill on an S-tier zombie yet, and those White Cloud Cang Gou bastards have been mocking me for days!”
Sang Ru was overjoyed. “Nothing would please me more. Welcome to the team, Master Uncle!”
Chen Mo’s eyes darkened. What’s going on? Cang Gou? This newbie dungeon actually has a Cang Gou member?! He’d heard from Moon Fox that Cang Gou were rare, each eccentric and powerful!

This is bad. How are they supposed to compete for the S-tier zombie now?
