Chapter 85: Despair, Isn’t It?
The more Chen Mo struggled, the tighter the chains became.
“Chen Mo, when you burned Zhong Lin’er, did you ever imagine you’d end up like this?” Wu Chen was like a lofty judge of the underworld, punishing mere mortals.
Chen Mo sneered disdainfully and didn’t answer. Instead, he opened the map to check for others nearby. Through the map, he confirmed that within a hundred miles, aside from some white dots representing ordinary people, there were no other evolvers. Chen Mo was relieved.
“Haha! I know how unwilling you are. I love to see that look on your face—struggle! Struggle harder! Don’t worry, I won’t kill you. I’ll torture you to death, slowly!” Wu Chen was ecstatic.
Chen Mo spoke calmly, “Wu Chen, are you so sure you can kill me?”
Wu Chen grinned viciously, “Chen Mo, you’re an F-class trash who couldn’t even clear the beginner difficulty. Frankly, you surprised me by defeating Shangguan Chaoyue from Class B. If you hadn’t met me, maybe you could’ve achieved something one day. But unfortunately, you met me. You shouldn’t—never should have—burned my woman. I wasn’t planning to reveal my secret so early, but for Lin’er’s revenge, anything is worth it!”
“Ha!” Chen Mo scoffed, “Your woman? You dare call that wanton woman your own? Do you know that she once knelt before me, begging to be fucked? Her depraved posture was utterly revolting!”
“Shut up! Shut your mouth! You’re courting death!” Wu Chen completely lost his mind.
Die! Die! Go to hell!
Wu Chen raised the Sword of Annihilation high. A twenty-meter-long black sword aura pierced the sky—Annihilation Slash!
Whoosh—
The air cracked, mountain rocks shattered!
This unstoppable strike was enough to change the color of the landscape.
Clang!
A clear, crisp sound!
Wu Chen’s prized magic sword struck Chen Mo’s body, producing only a sharp ring—nothing else happened. Not even a spark was raised!
At some point, Chen Mo’s body had been covered in a layer of diamond, utterly unbreakable!
“What… what is this?!” Wu Chen’s eyes widened in disbelief.
Ha!
A wicked smile curled on Chen Mo’s lips.
“Sorry, my showtime has arrived!”
Screech! The sound of metal scraping!
Chen Mo’s blood claws shot out from beneath his fingernails, transforming into fourfold claw shadows, bursting with crimson light!
The hellfire chains binding Chen Mo’s body were ruthlessly sliced into four segments!
“What the hell is this now?!” Wu Chen felt the plot had gone awry—he couldn’t make sense of anything anymore. The magic gauntlets on Chen Mo’s hands vanished, replaced by blood-soaked claws, and Wu Chen’s expression grew grave.
“Hehehe!” Chen Mo finally let loose, laughing madly. “Wu Chen, you excite me beyond measure. Your equipment, your skills, your demonic transformation—they are everything I’ve ever dreamed of! Who would’ve thought such a windfall would come straight to me? I don’t even know how to thank you!”
Buzz, buzz, buzz!
Wu Chen’s mind roared; he could hardly believe that the usually honest, upright student before him now seemed more demonic than he was. A vivid blood-red cloak billowed behind Chen Mo, his face hidden by a ghastly pale vampire mask, a pair of sinister fangs protruding from his mouth, and blood-dripping claws in both hands, his entire form enveloped in a crimson mist.
Wu Chen’s demonic transformation was caused by the magic equipment, his temperament warped by the intelligence core; but Chen Mo was different. Clearly, his transformation was not merely external—it came from within!
Wu Chen gritted out each word, “Don’t tell me you always knew I could transform, that you deliberately provoked me, even let yourself be captured? That everything, seemingly accidental, was actually planned by you!”
“You’re not entirely stupid. If we were at school, I’d never dare kill you. But now—hahaha—on this desolate mountaintop, I can only say: I’m sorry. Your life is mine!”
Chen Mo’s vampire set was fully activated, his attributes unleashed, the Demon King in his complete form.

[Secondary skills: Fireball—Explosive Flame, Energy Blast, Shadow Three Swords (Vanguard Sword, Fury Sword, Chaos Sword), Diamond Skin (Rune: Mirror Shell)]

[Mental (no equipment bonus): 180 = Magic 40, Qi Sea 40, Meditation 100]
Whether due to the intelligence core’s limitations or its insufficient level, the attribute points from different intelligence fragments couldn’t be stacked. For instance, Chen Mo now possessed 23 fragments, but couldn’t combine all their attribute points. If he could, his stats would already be in the thousands, and he’d be able to punch holes in the earth rather than just defeat children.
The only consolation was that the Demon King’s two character packs—Exceptional Ordinary Human and Bard—could be stacked, granting Chen Mo an extra 100 attribute points from Bard.
Chen Mo’s combat power was now fully enhanced!
Last time, against five instructors, Chen Mo had held back, afraid he might kill them. This time, at last, he could unleash his full power!
“Hmph! So what if you hid your strength? Now that I’m transformed, I’m invincible!”
Annihilation Pressure!
Demonized Wu Chen was shrouded in black annihilation energy; with a flick of his sword, the energy surged forth like a thousand troops obeying his command, charging at Chen Mo!
Chen Mo watched the black energy morph into warhorses, clicking his tongue in surprise. He never imagined a warrior’s skills could be so fantastical—so cool!
He’d always thought warriors’ skills were dull—just slash, slash, slash!
But witnessing Wu Chen’s abilities, he felt they were dazzling and imposing!
“Chen Mo! This attack is on a level you can’t even comprehend! Enjoy your terror… terror… what?!”
Chen Mo stood alone, blocking the tide!
His ten blood claws danced through the air, swarming with crimson shadows. Any annihilation energy that dared approach was instantly shredded to pieces. Even more frightening, Chen Mo’s up to 100 points in Meditation gave him a near-perfected sense for energy; in less than ten seconds, he had already analyzed Wu Chen’s power techniques and the composition of the black energy.
Blood Suppression!
[Skill Mimicry 100%]
Chen Mo’s vampire cloak flared, sending gusts of blood wind, transforming into hundreds of crimson warhorses to counter Wu Chen’s assault!
Wu Chen’s scalp tingled; for the first time, fear crept into his heart.
