98 My Territory, My Rules Part One
Little Yun also crawled out from under the bed. At this moment, he felt hungry and wanted to go out, but Xiaojing stopped him. Little Yun snapped, “How dare you block me! Watch out, or I’ll beat you up next time.”
Xiaojing smiled wryly and said, “I have no choice. Miss told me to stop you, so I have to obey. If you want to beat me later, I’ll just have to let you.”
Little Yun understood that with his current strength, it was impossible to break through Xiaojing’s blockade. Since threats didn’t work, he had to plead, “Sister Xiaojing, you’ve always treated me well. Please let me out! My stomach is growling; if I don’t eat soon, I’m going to starve.”
Xiaojing knew well that the young lady was very strict with the young master. “Take it easy, young master. You haven’t been beaten to death by Miss yet. It would be worse to starve yourself to death.”
In truth, Xiaojing was secretly pleased. Everyone feared Miss Jiu, and though they often suffered under her temper, they endured it. But now, someone had managed to make Miss Jiu look so embarrassed. Miss Jiu was truly asking for trouble, and Xiaojing found it somewhat amusing.
After Little Yun had eaten for a while, Miss Jiu’s beautiful eyes suddenly blazed with anger as she stormed toward him. Fearful, he quickly dodged to the edge of the bed and said, “Don’t come over here! If you keep coming, I’ll hide under the bed again. A real man keeps his word.”
Miss Jiu scolded, “Hide all you want! I’m not afraid if you run to the ends of the earth, let alone under the bed.” Though it was not dignified for a man to hide under the bed, it wasn’t forbidden either. Taking advantage of her words, Little Yun slipped under the bed again.
Gritting her teeth in frustration, Miss Jiu growled, “Hide all you want! If I don’t catch this rat today, I’m not a Dragon.”
She abandoned all the pride of a noble lady and bent down, preparing to crawl under the bed to grab this little rascal by the ear.
Just as she bent down, Long Hanxing pushed open the door and called out, “Sister Jiu, are you here?”
Seeing Miss Jiu crouched by the bed and Little Yun hiding underneath, he couldn’t help but ask curiously, “What’s going on here? Am I seeing things? Brother-in-law, what are you doing under the bed? Playing hide-and-seek?”
Miss Jiu’s face flushed red as she replied, “A mouse ran under the bed. He’s trying to catch it, but he’s having so much fun that he doesn’t want to come out.”
Hanxing chuckled softly, “Good sister, don’t tell me this mouse was chased under the bed by this cat called Miss Jiu?”
Miss Jiu blushed deeper and said, “Don’t talk nonsense, Xiaojing, why are you just standing there? Hurry and help the young master out.”
Hanxing stifled a laugh and bent down to Little Yun, “Good brother-in-law, stop playing hide-and-seek and come out! This cat won’t catch you anymore.”
Knowing Hanxing was there, Little Yun felt assured that Miss Jiu wouldn’t make things difficult for him. So, without waiting for Xiaojing to help, he climbed out himself, brushing off the dust from his clothes with a cool nonchalance.
Miss Jiu and Hanxing seemed to have urgent business, so after Little Yun emerged, Miss Jiu only instructed Xiaojing to keep a close watch on him to prevent any more mischief, then hurried away with Hanxing.
Once Miss Jiu and Xiaohong left the tavern, it became Little Yun’s domain. Though Miss Jiu told Xiaojing to keep him in check, Xiaojing was just a servant girl; even Miss Jiu herself couldn’t truly control Little Yun. So with Xiaojing’s limited authority, Little Yun was free again. He spent his time wandering around the tavern or chatting and boasting with Chu Xiaoyu, thoroughly enjoying himself.
After Miss Jiu took Xiaohong away, Long Feng in the tavern secretly looked for a chance to take revenge on Little Yun. Now, he believed the opportunity had finally come.
That day, two uninvited guests arrived at the Ruyi Tavern. They were Long Wei’s son, Long Feihu, and Long Jian’s son, Long Feilei. Both had good relations with Long Feng.
Long Feng knew these two held no goodwill toward Little Yun. Feihu had even beaten him before, so Feng planned to use these two young masters to deal with Little Yun.
Feihu and Feilei called out to Long Feng, “Long Feng, bring us a jar of Ruyi wine quickly.”
Long Feng smiled and replied, “Gentlemen, this Ruyi wine is brewed by your Ninth Aunt herself and is extremely precious. Usually, it requires Xiaohong’s approval, but since she’s not here, we must ask Young Master Yun’s consent.”
Long Feilei asked, “Young Master Yun? Is he our Ninth Aunt’s little lover?”
Long Feng nodded. Feilei then said, “Call him out. If he refuses to give us the Ruyi wine, I’ll break his head.” Feihu laughed, “I already beat him once at the Long family’s place. If it weren’t for that servant girl Xiaojing intervening, I would have beaten him until he begged for mercy.”
When Little Yun heard from Xiaolan that these two young masters from the Long family had arrived, he recalled Feihu’s past assault on him. Thinking, “Today I finally have a chance for revenge,” he began quietly instructing Xiaolan on what to do.
Xiaolan, who harbored deep resentment against the Long family, especially Feihu’s sister Long Feiyu, was more than willing to cooperate with Little Yun’s plans.
After giving Xiaolan instructions, Little Yun took Xiaojing along to meet them. With Xiaojing present, he believed these two scoundrels wouldn’t dare make a move against him here.
Upon seeing Feihu and Feilei, Little Yun smiled and said, “Rare guests, my two nephews, what brings you here? Paying New Year’s respects? You’re late; today is already the thirteenth day of the first lunar month. Since you didn’t bring gifts, this elder won’t be handing out red envelopes.”
Feihu and Feilei, seeing him put on a show of seniority in front of Long Feng, couldn’t help but curse silently, “Damn it, all because of Long Lengyue’s madness, I’m now a generation below this wild kid.”
Long Feng looked on with glee and said, “Young Master Yun, the two young masters are here to drink the Ruyi wine.”
Little Yun replied, “I know. This has nothing to do with you. You’d better go handle your own affairs.”
He then turned to Xiaojing and said, “Sister Xiaojing, since these two nephews are visiting their new uncle, I should be polite. Xiaolan, bring the jar of Ruyi wine from my room. I’ve been wanting to treat them with this wine.”
Soon, Manager Yang and Long Feng had various dishes laid out. Xiaolan also brought the Ruyi wine.
Little Yun said to Feihu and the others, “This is the world-famous Ruyi wine; consider yourselves lucky to taste it.”
Long Feilei hurriedly lifted the wine cover, and a fragrant aroma immediately filled the room. He quickly poured two cups.
Feihu eyed Little Yun for a moment, thinking this slick fellow had a knack for trouble. Since he had beaten him before at the Long family’s place, he doubted he was so kind as to offer fine wine. There might even be poison in it.
