Chapter 105: The Questioning of Education

In the quiet, Zong Huayan struck the man’s arm with a fist.
She had clearly intended to hit a different spot, but seeing him with that eager, puppy-like expression, she couldn’t bring herself to do it. Instead, she gave his arm a firm punch.
Fu Yanyan lowered his head, his fringe covering his forehead, his chiseled face splattered with blood streaks, eyes full of pleading. Both fierce and fragile, likely very few women could resist him.
Zong Huayan, however, was still holding firm, each aching inch of her body reminding her why.
Beneath this man’s exterior lay a vicious possessiveness and controlling nature. Call it masculine spirit if you will, but more bluntly, it was perverse. Like parasitic insects gnawing at his soul, making him hypersensitive and volatile. When angered, he used force and power to discipline her, leaving her battered all over.
Then he’d feel guilty... over and over again.
In his eyes, there was no separation—only bereavement.
This light yet deliberate punch oddly pleased the bloodied, trembling man before her. Fu Yanyan believed it was her pity surfacing again, making her reluctant.
That gentle strike made his gaze even more disturbingly doting, like a boundless deep sea, turbulent waves suppressed beneath his eyes, hidden deep.
“Continue.”
Fu Yanyan gently grasped the woman’s wrist, a faint smile lifting his lips. He swallowed the blood at the corner of his mouth and spoke softly.
“The blood of the Xu family reeks of a certain foulness, otherwise, how could my Ah Yan be entangled by those insignificant bastards?”
“Nonsense. Who’s entangled? Say that again.”
The anger that had been trapped in Zong Huayan’s chest refused to dissipate. She stepped forward and threw a full-strength punch at the man’s face. Instantly, his cold, proud visage turned aside. He had a chance to dodge but chose not to—willingly taking the blow. The vast training hall echoed with his heavy breathing. His fringe fell over his eyes from that punch.
Fu Yanyan harbored resentment but suppressed it fiercely, even letting go the reflexive punch his long years of training wanted to throw.
He could accept her punishment.
But he could not accept her punishing him for another man.
Fu Yanyan always lowered his head first.
“Enough.”
She genuinely felt one truth.
In love, a man’s intelligence drops to zero.
“You told me to continue, didn’t you? Want more? I wonder who lost their mind in the car just now?”
A flicker of tenderness stirred in Zong Huayan’s eyes, then was quickly buried.

Her tone was neither cold nor gentle.
“Ah Yan... as long as you can calm down, a hundred times, a thousand times, it doesn’t matter.”
Fu Yanyan felt his cheeks flush. Though not as painful as the countless blows he had endured before, this was the most destructive of all. He felt his heart trembling but outwardly obediently stepped forward, placing his face before hers, bearing a certain humble sincerity. His Adam’s apple bobbed slowly as he stubbornly clung to his rehearsed lines, unwilling to reveal too much.
He was genuinely afraid...
“I don’t want to hit you. I just want one answer. How much have you hidden from me?”
Fu Yanyan would rather have her strike him than endure this formal interrogation.
He finally understood the torment of a desperate crossroads.
When he looked up, his gaze was resolute, then he dropped to both knees—a bit like a self-inflicted plea.
“I have only ever loved Ah Yan in this life and the next. I have never done anything to betray you! I care for you endlessly. I swear on the ancestors of the Fu family, I have never hidden anything from you. There isn’t a shred of disloyalty in my heart. Please, you must believe me! Please?”
His assistant watched with rapt attention, having just recovered from the shock on the morning drive. Now, somewhat loosened, he thought, this boss was a typical henpecked husband—kneeling at the slightest offense, with those all-too-familiar lines.
Wasn’t this exactly what he said every time he messed up, kneeling and professing loyalty?
Zong Huayan’s lip twitched. This man really had no respect for the Fu ancestors, spouting nonsense at will.
She was absolutely certain this man was hiding something.
Yet, he was cautious; his lips were tight.
Fu Yanyan knew that beneath a man’s knees lay gold, but he was no fool. If he confessed everything, what would happen then?
“Ah Yan, that little bastard’s words can’t be trusted. He’s sowing discord! Over the years, I’ve cultivated myself and devoted myself to charity. How could a man like me stoop to harming lives? I would never treat ordinary lives as worthless! Even if I sought revenge, I wouldn’t harm the innocent. Our Fu family never stoops to such brutality! I beg you to believe me one last time, for my sincerity’s sake.”
His voice was low and earnest.
The floor was cold. Without hesitation, he bent down, kneeling there.
His leg muscles tensed, the black pants showcasing the muscular lines. His lowered back and shoulder blades exuded a strong, raw magnetism, especially stained with blood.
Broad shoulders, narrow waist—usually concealed beneath his cool clothing—once stripped bare, he was a beast in fine clothing. His knees pressed to the floor, stripped of former imposing grandeur.
Only when she lifted his chin did the taut muscles ripple beneath his skin, revealing a deep desire, impenetrable resolve, and patience.
Zong Huayan sneered coldly.
She certainly could not truly believe him.

To be precise, she no longer believed anyone.
Yet, she still cared enough to want to discipline this reckless youth properly.
“Then stay on your knees. Don’t get up until you tell the truth.”
“Ah Yan, why should I confess to something I haven’t done?”
Zong Huayan didn’t look back or respond, leaving as pure and untouched as before, picking up the scarf she had dropped on the ground.
Fu Yanyan’s eyes reddened. He knew Ah Yan would never truly let him die.
She was just sometimes strict.
Only those who love you will discipline you strictly.
He feared that if he told the whole truth, Ah Yan might ignore him... or be terribly disappointed.
“Looking good?”
Fu Yanyan turned his head, his voice sharp and cold. He wiped the sweat mixed with blood from his face as it slowly dripped down. Though kneeling far away, one could faintly glimpse the shadow in his eyes.
The assistant quickly shook his head, amazed by this man’s way of expressing submission.
“No, Mr. Fu, I didn’t see anything. I am loyal to you and only want what’s best. Please calm down.”
The assistant immediately knelt as well. How could he not kneel when his master did?
“Get up first! Handle the matter properly. Stop wasting time with smooth talk. Take that doctor and lock the little bastard in the room. Make sure he doesn’t escape.”
“Yes, Mr. Fu. But why hasn’t Xu Yaochuan made a move yet?”
“You don’t need to worry. Xu Yaochuan has no good intentions. Keep a close eye on him.”
The assistant nodded repeatedly and stepped out to summon the doctor.
