For Lin Qiye, time was indeed of the essence.

After all, in his original life, he had lived only twelve short years—an utter embodiment of brevity. If he spent five years waiting for his body to mature, it would mean half his lifespan was wasted on mere growth. If only his body matured three times a year, he could save those five years, lay his plans early for the resurgence of spiritual energy, and prepare for the so-called descent of the divine race.

Unfortunately, Lin Qiye’s growth had already reached its limit—any further haste would only harm him, like forcing sprouts to grow. Moreover, he had a premonition: waiting patiently five years for his body to mature was the most perfect path. Though he could not cultivate the Qi Refinement Technique yet, with the Dao Canon Technique, he could nurture innate true energy and forge an innate divine body.

Once the innate divine body was formed, his future might soar to unimaginable heights.

As for those calamities—losing an ear to a rat at one, a drunk smashing his left leg at three, a broken left hand at four, deafened left ear at six—none of these would come to pass.

After all, Lin Qiye now possessed a manifested three percent Dragon Elephant Body; any thug could be killed with a single punch!

Thinking thus, Lin Qiye let out a soft breath, finally feeling a touch of ease.

“As long as I’m careful, constantly reshaping fate, growing safely to six years old should pose no problem.”

He smiled gently. As expected, after dealing with a few hooligans, Lin Qiye passed five years in peace.

Now, he was six.

At this point, his height had shot up like bamboo after rain—reaching a full meter eighty. The Dragon Elephant Body manifested to twenty percent! The faint silver shadow now took physical form, encasing him in a three-centimeter-thick layer of silver armor. Not even a sniper rifle could breach his defense!

To put it mildly, with the Dragon Elephant Body alone, he was akin to a master of external martial arts.

On another front, his innate true energy had soared from three thousand strands at one year old to twenty thousand now.

The moment his body matured, twenty thousand strands of innate true energy surged into his spine. Under their transformation, Lin Qiye’s spine became as warm and lustrous as fine jade, radiating a divine glow and vibrant life force, which poured into his limbs and bones. Innate true energy now issued forth ceaselessly from his spine.

Feeling this sudden abundance, Lin Qiye was astonished: “Can I now nurture innate true energy without absorbing spiritual energy from heaven and earth?”

He could hardly believe it and quickly examined himself.

What he saw left him dumbfounded.

Previously, due to the scarcity of spiritual energy in the world, his ability to nurture innate true energy was greatly suppressed—only ten strands a day.

But now, with the formation of a divine-grade spine, it acted like a spring, automatically producing innate true energy without the need to absorb external spiritual energy. The rate tripled; within a year, it could generate ten thousand strands!

“Interesting—so this is the benefit of the innate divine body? Quite miraculous! But for now, only my spine has reached the divine-grade. If every bone in my body attained this level, how unfathomable would the effect be?”

“Perhaps new abilities would emerge!”

Lin Qiye laughed heartily.

“I knew it—cultivating the innate divine body brings endless benefits!”

“More importantly, I can now practice the Qi Refinement Technique.”

His eyes burned with anticipation.

Though spiritual energy had not yet revived, the divine race had not descended, and heaven and earth’s energy was scarce, Lin Qiye did not mind.

He climbed to the attic, sat cross-legged at its peak, heart and mind tranquil, and began practicing the flawless Qi Refinement Technique perfected by his SSS-level permanent talent: Genesis Deduction.

It must be said, the current spiritual energy was indeed thin to the extreme. Yet, thanks to the unprecedented conversion efficiency of the Genesis Deduction-created Qi Refinement Technique, in just ten days Lin Qiye reached the first layer of Qi Refinement.

“With the first layer of Qi Refinement, I can easily take on a hundred opponents.”

He sprang up, light as a swallow, floating like a leaf behind the house—a movement ghostly in its swiftness.

“What a ridiculous cultivation method I’ve deduced!”

He smiled.

The Qi Refinement Technique brought a terrifying boost to his strength, but the scarcity of spiritual energy remained a hindrance.

“I need to find a place rich in spiritual energy.”

Lin Qiye gazed into the distance.

“Genesis Deduction—are there any nearby springs or treasure sites abundant in spiritual energy?”

[This deduction consumes 500 Action Points (23,000 remaining)]

[Deduction successful: In the northwest of the city, beside Shenwu Lake, within the sixth villa district, there is a dried-up well; beneath it, a spring is showing signs of revival.]

Upon seeing the result, Lin Qiye raised an eyebrow.

“It seems I must venture into the city.”

With only five years left before the resurgence of spiritual energy and the descent of the divine race, everything had to be arranged.

Thus, Lin Qiye could not afford to waste time in the slums.

He decided to leave tonight.

Before departing, he entered the wild forest, used his strength and ten strands of innate true energy to tame a fierce tiger, bringing it back to the slums.

“Your task is to protect my grandmother. If anyone tries to harm her, bite them to death!”

The tiger lay flat, nodding vigorously, worshipping Lin Qiye to the point it wished it could speak and assure him it would risk its life to protect her.

Lin Qiye felt its resolve and was reassured.

He stepped into the vast night, quietly crossed the city walls, and appeared at a bar downtown.

“Excuse me, who lives in the sixth villa district?”

At the noisy bar counter, he asked a cheap woman whose clothes revealed much.

“Shh! Don’t ask around—that’s the lair of a major city tyrant…”

She took a drag of her cigarette and reached for Lin Qiye’s trousers, her eyes hazy with desire for this handsome man.

But Lin Qiye swiftly evaded, disappearing without a trace.

The sixth villa district was ablaze with lights.

Outside stood armed guards, and inside, layer upon layer of security—clearly the home of a powerful and wealthy family.

In the study on the east side, the master, sporting a short black beard and rugged features, flicked ash from his cigar with one hand while reading a thick stack of documents with the other. His gaze was fierce and venomous, seldom peaceful.

Lin Qiye arrived like a gust of wind, tapping the desk with his finger.

“Your villa has been requisitioned. Please move out. And leave a million Angel Coins as pocket money.”

The man stared blankly at Lin Qiye, utterly confused: “???”

When my face is full of question marks, it’s not me who’s the problem—it’s you!

Who are you, daring to come to my home and tell me to leave? Do you know who I am in River City?

His eyes grew fiercer.

But suddenly, his hair stood on end.

How did this man get in? Why were the guards unaware?

Could he be a top assassin?

Realizing this, the man’s ferocity evaporated, replaced by fearful deference.

“Sir, whatever you say, I’ll do it immediately. The villa is yours—I’ll leave now… right away.”

He scurried out of the study, but as he turned, murderous intent and mockery flickered in his eyes.

“You fool! How dare you let me, Blood Whirlwind, go free.”

“In a moment, it’ll be your death!”

Blood Whirlwind sneered inwardly.

Unbeknownst to him, Lin Qiye had deliberately let him go to call reinforcements.

After all, to establish authority and fully control the villa, he needed to display his terrifying power.

Let the master prepare the stage for his grand entrance!

A few minutes later, outside the study, twenty burly, muscular guards aimed their automatic rifles at Lin Qiye.

Rat-tat-tat!

Gunfire exploded like firecrackers.

Hundreds of bullets tore through the study.

“Well, that fool must be riddled with holes by now…”

Blood Whirlwind laughed grimly.

“Bah! Next life, be smarter!”
