Upon entering the Murong estate, Chen Wanxian wasted not a single moment, busy forging connections and building his network. This was his final opportunity. In stark contrast, Chen Yang seemed utterly at ease, even taking the time to sample the various delicacies.

“Hmm, though the food on Earth lacks spiritual energy, the taste is indeed remarkable,” Chen Yang remarked, offering an honest opinion after savoring a top-grade three-headed abalone.

Meanwhile, among the crowd, several young men and women eyed Chen Yang with open hostility. Among them were Xu Qing and Wang Mingyuan.

“Wang, is that the one who hurt you—the guy eating abalone?” a tall, handsome man asked disdainfully, nodding toward Chen Yang.

His name was Chu Feng, hailing from the powerful Chu clan of Yunzhou. The Chu and Wang families had maintained close ties for generations, so Wang Mingyuan and Chu Feng shared a good rapport.

“That’s right, Chu. It’s that guy. Last time I was caught off guard, but this time I’ll make sure he pays!” Wang Mingyuan replied, his face contorted with rage, itching for revenge.

“Don’t worry, Wang. He’s just a nobody—watch how I’ll teach him a lesson,” Chu Feng replied with a confident smirk.

With that, he strode straight toward Chen Yang, with Wang Mingyuan and Xu Qing following close behind, eager to watch the drama unfold.

Chu Feng approached Chen Yang and sneered, “Hey kid, do you know who I am?”

Chen Yang glanced at him. “Who you are has nothing to do with me.”

Chu Feng’s lips curled into a mocking smile. “Quite the character, aren’t you? Good, that makes things more interesting.”

Xu Qing glared at Chen Yang. “Chen, you’d better watch your mouth—this is Young Master Chu Feng, the third son of the Chu family!”

Their intentions were obvious, and Chen Yang was well aware. Yet he remained calm. “What exactly do you want?”

Chu Feng scoffed, “Wang is my brother. You injured him, so what do you think I want?”

He continued, “Ordinarily, small fries don’t interest me, and I wouldn’t bother making things difficult for you. Here’s the deal: kneel in front of everyone, kowtow to Wang ten times, then crawl out of the Murong estate naked, and I might consider letting you go.”

In Yunzhou, the Chu family’s influence was second only to the Murongs. Rumor had it that the eldest son, Chu Tiange, was already a grandmaster in martial arts before the age of thirty. With such a dragon among them, even the Murong estate was reluctant to provoke the Chu family lightly.

Relying on his family’s formidable influence, Chu Feng was arrogant and unrestrained, even within the Murong estate.

Chen Yang’s gaze turned icy. “You’re not qualified to make me kneel.”

Chu Feng’s brow furrowed, his expression souring. He hadn’t expected someone so insignificant to talk back to him.

Wang Mingyuan snapped, “Chen Yang, I advise you to kneel now, or this time next year will mark the anniversary of your death!”

Xu Qing chimed in, “Don’t try to act tough, or your father will be implicated—you and your entire family will come to a miserable end!”

A murderous intent began to rise in Chen Yang’s heart. “This is your final warning. Leave now, and I’ll pretend nothing happened. Otherwise…” His tone grew cold. “Otherwise, you die.”

As his words faded, the three felt a sudden chill, an inexplicable sense of dread as though standing in an ice-cold cellar. They were not cultivators and had no idea that this was killing intent.

Chu Feng’s gaze darkened. He could not believe this insignificant nobody dared challenge him so openly.

He sneered, “Kid, don’t think that just because we’re in the Murong estate I won’t touch you. You’re nothing but an ant—if I crush you, the Murongs won’t even spare you a glance!”

With a resounding slap, Chen Yang struck Chu Feng across the face, leaving a vivid, blood-red handprint on his left cheek. The blow was so swift that none present saw it clearly.

A deathly silence fell.

Chu Feng stood stunned, disbelief written all over his face. Xu Qing and Wang Mingyuan looked as though they had just seen a ghost.

Soon, Chu Feng’s eyes glowed red with fury. He roared, “You little bastard! Tired of living, are you? How dare you hit me?”

“Fine! Very well! You’re courting death!”

His fists clenched, barely containing his murderous rage. Were it a different time and place, he would have killed Chen Yang without hesitation. Little did he know, had the place been different, Chen Yang would have disposed of his corpse in the wild without a second thought.

“Chen, you actually dared to hit Young Master Chu? You must be insane!” Xu Qing shouted, pointing at Chen Yang. “First you injure Mingyuan, and now you strike Young Master Chu. I can tell you with absolute certainty—your family is finished!”

On the surface, Xu Qing spoke up for Chu Feng, but inside, she was secretly delighted. She knew that provoking Young Master Chu spelled doom for the Chen family. When that happened, the Chen family’s assets would all fall into the hands of the Xu family.

The commotion quickly drew the attention of the crowd. Wang Ai and Xu Qingshan also made their way over. When they saw Chu Feng had been struck, both frowned deeply.

“Young Master Chu, what happened?” they asked.

“Father, Uncle Xu!” Wang Mingyuan pointed at Chen Yang and said gravely, “That’s the guy! He hit Young Master Chu right in front of everyone—he’s far too arrogant!”

What? Both Xu Qingshan and Wang Ai were shocked to hear these words. Even those nearby heard them loud and clear.

In the next moment, countless eyes turned to Chen Yang. But Chen Yang acted as if nothing had happened. He simply pointed at Chu Feng and said, “He talks too much. He deserved it.”

Like a stone thrown into a lake, his words sent ripples throughout the crowd.

“Who is this guy? Even dares to hit the third young master of the Chu family?”

“I think I know him—he’s the son of Chen Wanxian!”

“Chen Wanxian? Isn’t that the one about to go bankrupt?”

The whispers grew among the crowd.

Before long, Chen Wanxian himself noticed the commotion and rushed over, accompanied by a rotund man in a suit, whose belly strained against his waistband.

This was Zhu Jinyuan, a building materials tycoon.

Chen Wanxian hurried to his son’s side and asked quietly, “Son, what happened?”

Chen Yang had no time to respond before Xu Qingshan interjected sarcastically, “What happened? Chen Wanxian, you have the nerve to ask? You’ve really raised a fine son—he even dares hit Young Master Chu. Is your Chen family about to produce a dragon?”

Upon hearing this, Chen Wanxian frowned deeply and glanced at his son. Chen Yang gave a slight nod.

Chen Wanxian understood there must be some misunderstanding. Still, the Chu family’s power was overwhelming, and not something he could afford to cross. But at this point, the matter had to be handled.

With this in mind, Chen Wanxian turned to Chu Feng and said humbly, “Young Master Chu, there must be some misunderstanding here. On behalf of my son, I offer you my sincerest apologies.”

Though Chen Wanxian was a real estate magnate in his own right, the Chu family’s roots were deep; if he didn’t apologize, the Chen family would be doomed.

At that moment, Zhu Jinyuan stepped forward and declared, “Boss Chen, your son is impressive—he even dares hit Young Master Chu. As for the project you discussed with me earlier, forget it. I, Zhu Jinyuan, will never work with you again!”

With that, Zhu Jinyuan turned and left, eager to distance himself from trouble.

When the wall falls, everyone gives it a push.

The father and son of the Chen family had been thrust upon the pyre.

Chu Feng glanced at Chen Wanxian, a mocking smile on his lips. “Your son certainly has guts. But do you really think a simple apology will appease my anger? If that’s what you believe, you’ve wasted all your years in this world.”
