Chapter Fifty-Five: Compensate Me for the Emotional Distress Over My Treasured Boar
The bristled boar, having lost its freedom, was mercilessly tethered beneath a great tree. Bored, it nibbled at the flowers and grass, chewing each mouthful only to spit it out at once, as if their flavor was utterly disagreeable.
...
Thwack! Thwack, thwack!
Several poisoned darts, gleaming with a sinister hue, shot soundlessly into the tree trunk, embedding themselves half an inch deep.
Startled, the boar, which had already resigned itself to fate and was snoring beneath the tree, let out a frightened grunt and leapt up—only to be yanked down again by the rope.
In the distance, several figures dressed in black appeared, their steps swift and light, clearly skilled, pursuing two petite figures mere dozens of meters ahead, flinging scores of darts as they ran.
...
"Sister, I can't run anymore."
"Hold on a little longer, little sis... We must endure until our family's rescuers arrive."
"We're nearly there!"
"Just a bit more, keep going."
...
The two delicate young women, in their panic, fled to the side of the great tree. The elder sister, clad in white, soothed and encouraged her younger sister, dressed in green, with anxious urgency.
Before the sisters could run much farther, the black-clad pursuers caught up, encircling them around the tree.
"Where do you think you can run now?!"
"You can't kill my sister and me! Our father is the Lord of Verdant City..."
"If we're daring enough to kill, of course we know who you are."
"Boss, before we finish off these girls, can we... Heh heh heh..."
"Naturally. With looks like theirs... it would be a waste not to."
"Hahaha..."
...
"Huff, huff."
"Huff, huff."
Just as the black-clad men began stripping, intent on violence, and the sisters’ eyes lost all hope, two strange sounds rang out...
Suddenly, a youth in coarse blue clothing landed lightly before them.
"You want to kill my pig?"
...
The black-clad men were stunned for a few seconds by this abrupt turn of events. They hadn’t realized that anyone else was present on the tree they’d surrounded, nor did they pay any attention to the lowly bristled boar beneath it.
It wasn't until the youth, chubby and cheerful, spoke up.
"Kill your pig?"
"Playing games with us! Get him!"
Knowing their plan had been exposed, the black-clad men wasted no words. Two figures rushed out, attacking the unexpected intruder.
With a sharp sound, two magical rhinoceros horns, charged with true energy, shot like lightning and pierced the foreheads of the two attackers as they charged.
They didn't even realize they were dead; their bodies carried forward a couple more meters before collapsing lifelessly to the ground.
The remaining black-clad men were instantly dazed, while hope lit up in the eyes of the sisters in white and green...
"This one's tough!"
"Brothers, all together!"
...
"If you want to kill my pig, there can be no forgiveness."
"Quick, pay me compensation for my precious pig's emotional distress!"
Before the words had fully left his mouth, the youth's figure blurred as he grabbed the two rhinoceros horns and joined battle with the black-clad men.
Clang, clang, clang!
Thwack, thwack...
"Ah! He's too fast!"
With a startled sigh from the leader of the black-clad men, who fell dead, the battle ended in the blink of an eye.
...
"Thank you, young master, for saving our lives."
"We sisters are deeply grateful."
"May we ask your name, benefactor?"
"Huff, huff."
"Huff, huff."
The sisters, finally surviving their ordeal, dragged their exhausted bodies to their feet and bowed in thanks to the youth, who was busy rifling through the pockets of the fallen black-clad men.
Beside him, the bristled boar grunted twice.
"Hmm?"
"Are you beautiful ladies calling me?"
...
