Chapter 85: Handsome, Beat Him Up!
The small Golden Vajra Ape, only the size of a fist, looked adorable no matter what expression it wore. Yet, in this moment, neither Qingxi nor Qiu Yingying could bring themselves to smile; instead, their gazes were fixed intently on a figure emerging from the thick clouds of dust.
Compared to Ibushita, this demon was even taller, standing three meters high, its entire body synthesized from various materials, forming a humanoid shape. Its form could shift at will; with a single thought, its arm extended directly into a razor-sharp blade, easily cleaving through a wounded Xuan-ranked Demon Ox.
Next, a cold glint flickered in the demon’s single eye, and from its mouth shot a spear attached to an iron chain, which pierced the Demon Ox and greedily devoured its power. During this process, the wounds from its high-speed collision with the ground were completely healed, restoring it to peak condition.
This was a realm surpassing the innate; though it had not yet stepped into the spiritual gang stage, even from afar its presence exerted tremendous pressure on all present.
Qingxi watched with a pained expression as the Xuan-ranked Demon Ox was consumed. To him, that was more than a thousand units of elemental essence!
“How… how terrifying!”
Longma clamped his tail between his legs, trying to sneak away, but after the tiny Golden Vajra Ape yanked his ear from atop his head, he didn’t dare move.
Qingxi sized up the demon, and information appeared on his panel.
[Species: Extraterrestrial Demon]
[Name: Roko]
[Level: Equivalent to Half-Step Spirit Gang]
[Age: 600 years]
[Note: The extraterrestrial demon ‘Roko’ is at his prime, strength surpassing the peak of the innate realm but not reaching the Spirit Gang stage; equivalent to half-step Spirit Gang. Cannot be matched in strength. Host is advised to flee immediately.]
After reading this, cold sweat broke out across Qingxi’s brow. Flee immediately? Does that mean I’m a coward who fears death?
Extraterrestrial demons are the scourge of all; everyone has a duty to destroy them.
How could I run now? If I did, wouldn’t that make me just like Longma?
Qingxi snorted in disdain, but the next instant, he grabbed Longma with one hand and Lin Feng with the other, sprinting away at full speed.
Qiu Yingying was fleeing as well, wrapping the group in sword light, moving with remarkable swiftness.
She glanced sideways, her face full of doubt. “Junior brother, are you sure this is good luck?”
Qingxi cast a glance back at the menacing extraterrestrial demon Roko, his eyelids twitching. “This shouldn’t be happening!”
By all rights, with Lin Feng around, they shouldn’t be so unlucky.
Yet now they had run into an extraterrestrial demon at the height of his power; with their strength, facing him meant certain death. This could hardly be called good luck.
Lin Feng merely scratched his head—this couldn’t be blamed on him, could it?
He was only following orders, after all, and hadn’t done anything!
“Yaya!” The small Golden Vajra Ape was unwilling to flee. It turned, roaring fiercely at Roko in the distance, its eyes full of savagery.
“Tch, little thing!”
Roko noticed Qingxi’s group, speaking stiffly in the human tongue. He tossed aside the spent Demon Ox, leapt with great force—sending shockwaves through the ground—and, using the huge recoil, shot toward Qingxi and the others.
Roko’s speed was many times that of an arrow. In a blink, he had closed much of the distance.
His right hand clawed through the air, condensing a spear from his inner power. With a powerful throw, the spear sliced through the air with an ear-splitting screech, reaching Qingxi almost instantly.
“Watch out!”
Qiu Yingying fully unleashed her Metal Sword Soul, trying to block the spear, but as soon as it made contact, the power was too much—the sword soul shattered instantly.
The shockwave swept them from the air, slamming them to the ground.
“So strong?” Qingxi groaned, rubbing his aching body, but relaxed upon seeing everyone else had only suffered light injuries.
“The opponent’s level is akin to half-step Spirit Gang. Unless a sect master intervenes, it’s almost impossible to kill him,” Qiu Yingying said, wiping blood from the corner of her mouth.
The Metal Sword Soul could be reformed after shattering, but the backlash was so violent that even with her defending, she was still injured.
Roko landed dozens of meters away, a deep, mocking light in his single eye, his lips twisting as if in derision.
But suddenly, with a loud bang, the previously arrogant Roko was sent flying, skidding face-first along the ground for dozens of meters before stopping.
Bathed in moonlight, a burly figure appeared.
It stood ten meters tall, wielding a forty-meter-long black iron staff, caught in mid-swing. It was none other than Da Huang, the Golden Vajra Ape.
On his shoulder, the Fire Fox chittered anxiously.
“Courting death!”
Roko climbed from the ground, shaking off the mud; his cracked body glowed faint blue and quickly healed.
“Hit!”
Da Huang roared, swinging the iron staff with astonishing speed.
Roko tried to parry, but the staff’s power was overwhelming—two sharp cracks sounded as his arms were shattered, and his body was sent hurtling like a cannonball.
“So the Golden Vajra Ape is this strong? Then, during our previous battle, it must have only used twenty percent of its strength,” Qiu Yingying thought, deeply shaken.
The small Golden Vajra Ape cheered, dancing and shouting atop Longma’s head.
“This is incredible!” Lin Feng, seeing Da Huang for the first time, thought he looked as imposing as any sect master.
Qingxi’s eyes sparkled, finding Da Huang uncannily reminiscent of King Kong. He couldn’t help but shout, “Handsome lad of the Land of Ancient Luo, beat him! Beat him hard!”
“What’s a handsome lad?” Lin Feng and Qiu Yingying turned to look at Qingxi.
“It means a good-looking man,” Qingxi replied offhandedly.
“And what’s a good-looking man?” Lin Feng was still confused.
Qingxi pondered, then said, “It means a dashing, handsome young master.”
“Oh, I see. Is that a term from your hometown, Brother Qingxi?” Lin Feng was curious. Ever since seeing Da Huang crush the extraterrestrial demon, he felt there was nothing more to worry about, and his attention shifted to other matters.
“Yes, only people from my hometown use that phrase, so you wouldn’t have heard it before,” Qingxi replied with a sly grin.
After all, when he joined the Lingyuan Sect, he’d only ever said he came from far away, so he wasn’t worried about being suspected.
On the battlefield, after being flung away, Roko’s body radiated blue light, rapidly healing his wounds.
Hatred flashed in his eye as he suddenly turned and fled.
As extraterrestrial demons, their purpose was to invade the cultivation world and seize resources, not to fight to the death with the local powerhouses.
With a furious roar, Da Huang charged after him, swinging the iron staff with all his might. Roko was cleaved in two at the waist; despite the thick blue healing energy surging from his body, it was not enough to mend so complete a separation.
“Weak!” Da Huang stamped down on Roko’s body, thumping his chest with one hand in pride, a look of utter arrogance, as if showing off.
But at that moment, Roko suddenly spat out a spear wreathed in killing intent, piercing straight through Da Huang.
Enraged, Da Huang brought down the iron staff with full force, smashing Roko’s body to pieces, obliterating all traces of life.
On his shoulder, the Fire Fox chirped anxiously, almost human in its worry, as if saying, “Da Huang, are you all right?”
The small Golden Vajra Ape was stunned, immediately activating his gigantification gift, transforming into a two-meter-tall great ape and sprinting over at top speed.
